Random q, anyone know how often you should get boosters for Novavax?

It's anecdotal and I have no proof, but it seems like everyone around me at work has been getting sick with "colds" left and right and I've been fine. Feel like my COVID and flu shots are helping me out hah. I was even locked in a conference room shoulder to shoulder with 20 people for a week and at least two of them got very sick.

didn't he squash a rail strike like very early on in his presidency?

feels like labor issues are something they're trying to straddle appeasing workers and corporations, and you gotta be all in otherwise it just feels like lip service

Annually. It's become a part of set of fall shots I get with the flu shot that knocks me on my ass for 36 hours.

Haha oh dang! Yeah I tried to get my tdap at the same time and they strongly suggested I only ever get two vaccines at a time. Felt fine after thankfully. The Pfizer COVID vax definitely made me sick though

It's been a while since I read up on it, but iirc the union voted to accept the contract after they got a bunch of stuff they wanted

Yeah it was not well reported that they actually went back and negotiated and the Union won a majority of what they were asking for.

Have had a "cold" for over a week now, my girlfriend and her sister got it worse than I did. I am pretty much over it but it just rears its head at night when I am trying to go to bed now.

CDC finally relented on seniors over the age of 65 and people with high risk/compromised immune systems should be getting them every 6 months, but yeah just yearly for now. I have seen a few people who I would say are more out on the fringes pushing for multiple per year, but not voices I totally trust

As a matter of practicality, I don’t think the redbaiting stuff is actually that meaningful. The political figure I’ve most seen called a socialist/communist in my life is Obama, who served two full terms having won both elections kinda comfortably and left with a high approval rating despite being constantly called a socialist for like 9 straight years. Probably the only point Mayo Pete has ever made i really cared about is that if Joe Manchin were the only Dem left, they’d call him a socialist.

Moreover, a workers party should talk about their agenda and political project in terms of class antagonism for sure, but it doesnt need to say “hey we’re socialists here.” As I’ve said in here before, i have members who I’d bet my paycheck voted for Trump but that I’ve also heard describe their view of themselves and their working lives in pretty clear Marxist terms. I’m a Marxist and those principles guide a lot of the labor organizing work, but i don’t say “we’re doing communism here.” I don’t think that’s necessary, and I think Americans are conditioned to run from that terminology.

I guess what I’m saying is, all American mainstream political options - Republican, Democrat, Harris, Trump, FOX News, CNN, MSNBC, Tech, Finance etc. - are largely unpopular. If I’m building a new party meant to appeal to working people, I’m saying be in a Party diametrically opposed to all of those things. Define ourselves in part by defining what we are not.

I'm trying to remember this now....wasn't there like something where Biden got them to agree to go back to work/not strike for a very small concession (something like they all got one extra sick day or something lame like that), but then the contract talks that commenced after that ended up leading to a big win for them? So much shit has happened between then and now hah

I feel like that sounds correct, I just remember listening to something about the post election and it was brought up that President and the Kamala campaign never went back and highlighted the win for the union it was. I think this because in like one of the focus groups or someone they interviewed on why they voted for Trump that person brought it up on how they did not treat the railworkers correctly.

Interesting what I learned from this was the "Elon Musk is jumping in to save Infowars!" Stuff is overblown. They only intervened regarding the sale of the Inforwars Twitter account rights.

So I guess around here that cold that is going around is either a bad cold or is/ends up as walking pneumonia. Guess our local hospital has been flooded with cases of it according to our local subreddit.

My fiancé still does not have her voice fully back after like a week, feel like I live with a different person lol. She sounded like Minnie Mouse for a few days.
