I just spent $90 on six albums in the Polyvinyl sale. I obviously have very little self control right now and don't need you whispering in my ear

 

I haven't even attempted to collect DBC albums yet. Really sucks they never released a 20th anniversary edition for AMAMABAS.

 

I have a Technics SL1200 MK3 with an Audio Technica VM95ML cartridge. I’m incredibly happy with the combo and I would recommend the Technics SL1200 especially to anyone looking for a turntable upgrade if you can swing it. got mine for around $450 shipped from a Japanese shop on eBay.

 

I had one in my cart but $40 shipped for that one was too much I think. I’ll probably regret that later

 

I also have the LP60XBT. It’s done me well the past couple years.

 

i'll vouch for the AT-LP60XBT as well. i personally haven't owned one (i have the AT-LP120XBT), but my sister has it and it's solid re: sound quality.

 

I have an Insignia, it's the Best Buy brand but it has an Audio Technica needle. it's actually my third, my previous one was a Crosley suitcase. I don't think I'll be upgrading anytime soon

 

I started with an AT LP60 in 2011 but a few years later upgraded to a Technics SL1200 with a Shure M97XE cartridge. Then in 2022 I upgraded the stylus to a Jico SAS and that made a world of difference.

 

Still loving my U-Turn after figuring out the buzz was from our shitty apartment wiring not being properly grounded.

They're customizable so you can go with some cheaper or fancier options depending on your budget. Would recommend spending the money on at least the Ortofon Red cartridge.

r/vinyl is a good resource (or it was when I was looked in 2018).

 

I was looking into getting a Debut Carbon Evo, but was a little unsure about whether it'd be as easy as the basic Audio-Technica turntable I've been using for the last dozen years or so. The Debut Carbon Evo 2 looks like a decent improvement, but I'm not sure I want to spend the extra money on those upgrades over what was already kind of a luxury expense haha

 

Echoing love for the U-Turn, especially because of how great their customer service is. After 5 years my turntable was starting to run into problems. I sent a video to customer service and for only $20 they sent me a replacement spindle, main bearing and belt. Now its back to playing good as new.

How do you’s all find the external belt on the U-turns? Any stretching / warping over time?

Never been a big fan of those external ones personally but that’s the beauty of individual taste!

(Unless I’m thinking of a different brand)

i literally just threw em on my bed to take the photo really fast, the order was meant to antagonize you :)

 

it definitely stretches over time. But they’re pretty cheap to replace. Also found that throwing the belt in the freezer for a few hours fixes any looseness.

 

I only paid 34.81 which isn’t too bad

 

That might be my second fav NFG album. Nice!

 

It gets overlooked a lot in their discography, but I really liked it. Used Kids in Columbus, OH posted it on their Discogs for about 2/3 the usual Discogs price and I jumped on it. It’s in fantastic shape!
