Gonna be really annoyed if I can only have the first half of this on vinyl

Are all of the preorders secretly for the two album version or is she going to sell four versions of that too?

i've secured the vinyl fro Target, but i'm keeping the receipt on the highly unlikely off-chance she puts the deluxe up for pre-order anytime soon

paying $35 for a 4xLP would be a hell of a steal, so it's definitely not the deluxe

  8. exactly my thought too, although i think Red TV (which was 4xLP) was like $40, wasn't it?

  11. I...do not agree with this. I think that expectation is pretty equally distributed amongst artists right now (and has been for some time, but especially with increased usage of the term "era" over the past 5-10 years).

I didn't believe this was real until I heard it with my own ears, lmao

All this producer talk. Let’s pair her with Will Yip and see this site close down once and for all

it was $50. red tv is actually 8 minutes longer than this so a 4xLP sounds right

  15. This thread is gonna move way to fast for someone like me who isn't nearly as invested in Swift and this release, but I will say, I like the album a lot, I feel the fatigue, and even if her music isn't always for me, I'm looking forward to doing a deeper dive from kind of an objective pop cultural analysis standpoint. So maybe I'll report back sometime with thoughts on older albums I'm hearing for the first time.

    Y'all enjoy!

    Taylor needs to re/press:

The 11 Midnights songs we don’t have on vinyl
Lover: Live in Paris + Need (From the Vault)
    The Anthology

there's a good 30 or so songs from the past 3 years that don't have any vinyl presence. a B-sides boxset seems like the safest choice.

I think anybody on here would be lying if they said they wouldn’t be curious to hear a Will Yip produced song.

Counterpoint - most double albums have more sonic variety and are not 31 songs. The only double album I can think of that has this many songs is the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Stadium Arcadium, and that’s all over the place by design. On first listen, the first album has a really clear arc that the second one doesn’t quite establish, even if it’s meant as a counterpoint thematically. Even Drake’s Scorpion stayed at 25 and had a clear A/B break.

The only modern analog for this release is probably Zach Bryan’s triple disc. 31 songs that all sound pretty good. She’s naturally much better at making them feel vital as a project vs a playlist. But the second disc especially feels like a Vault. This is all “morning of” hot takes, it will definitely gel more over time.

  21. "So Long, London" isn't my favorite... But the "mehhhh" I feel from that song just makes "But Daddy, I Love Him" hit even harder. That one rules.

Theory: with 31 songs + normal chart boosts of past releases/already charting songs, this will obliterate any of those monster Morgan Wallen initial streaming weeks/records from his last two albums with 30 and 36 songs respectively.

I just feel like a bit unsure where Taylor has gone to musically. A good core of what she was so damn good at was these massive melodies attached to storytelling. Or the Max Martin and first Jack era with big pop hits and now it feels like 80% of her new songs are just sort of talked through narratives with the same soundscapes.

    State of Grace
    Delicate
    Wildest Dreams
    Style
    All Too Well
    Love Story
    Cruel Summer
    Enchanted
    Dear John
    Treacherous

I just feel like none of these 31 songs stand out as anywhere approaching any of those. Feels like quantity over quality.

It's honestly very funny to me how many people who clearly don't like Taylor feel the need to post on Twitter about her anytime she releases something.

I am a fan of the album, but I do agree with this. State of Grace in particular has such a beautiful soaring hook, and it has been a bit since we've gotten that.
