To be fair, a lot of things are “highest grossing ever” now, but that doesn’t necessarily mean what it implies. There’s a lot of factors that contribute to that. But yeah they’re obviously doing great.

Too many na-na-na's. I can see how some people might like it though.

The farther we get from the skiba era the more fondly people will look on it IMO. I haven't listened to any non OMT records since it came ou, but I look forward to the eventual play through on the Skiba albums.

At the same time, it’s gonna be hard to feel nostalgic for something that didn’t come out when you were a teenager. I like California, but it was never gonna be an album that hit for me in the same way their early stuff did, because I didn’t grow up with it.

California is good. Nine is great. Do I think OMT is better? Sure. But I enjoy them all.

I put ONE MORE TIME... over NINE, but just barely tbh. This one is amazing and finally brings me back to blink's glory days, but I also loved NINE quite a bit for what it was. Really different records but I've gotten tons of enjoyment out of both.

I hope the next record's title is in all lowercase letters.

On that pod interview, the host said "Self-Titled" and Travis immediately responded with "Untitled".

    Real one!

The juiciest tidbit I got from that podcast was that he was approached by Goldenvoice about replacing Frank Ocean on W2 of Coachella the day before Frank even did his W1 set. I would love to get the full story about that trainwreck one day.

Yeah, this Podcast is awesome. Does bum me out that Travis can't even call Scott by name though, just refers to him as "blink's drummer" - Kinda weird considering they toured a bunch together when Travis was still in the Aquabats.

No member of blink is under any obligation to say, “Scott.”

This is a damn fine cup of coffee.

Yes, although he did say self-titled in one of the follow-up phone calls. In one case, he actually said both side by side.

expecting anything to make you feel the way you did as a teenager is a losing battle (movies, books, places, records) Blink records for me are way more like bookmarks. I remember vividly where I was in my life during every release since the first hiatus. California was out the week moved across the country.

I understand that, but if I am going to have less of a connection emotionally to it, and I don’t find the songs on that record very interesting, and especially repetitive, then I’m left feeling unsatisfied in all ways.

Once again, forgetting that there is probably an album specific thread now, but One More Time slaps hard! Gotta be the best album out this year or in a long time, for me at least. Every song is enjoyable and more than half are absolutely making me bonkers. Love it!

OMT is sittin’ pretty in that fourth spot on my blink-Rushmore.

I think One More Time is solid as hell, but I can't wait until 6 months to a year from now when the recency bias wears off and we see everyone's true thoughts on it.
