I loved this interview so much - Zane is so fucking good at it

Great interview. Zane is the goat.

 

That got a good laugh out of me. I also laughed when they asked Tom how he felt about watching blink press on without him, and he said "Are you guys recording this?"

 

I love how positive he is but COME ON. Does he really think this is the best album they've ever done? I'd be shocked if it was. Seems like it's gonna be good for sure, but the hyperbole is off the charts.

his role as an interviewer is rosey eyed hype man with some great anecdotes and questions. he does this with everyone. it gets killer footage and reactions from the bands. seems less like he’s being disingenuous and more like he throws all of himself into his craft. like really invests himself in records before the interviews.

 

I'm so damn excited to pre-game the OMT release with blink videos, this interview again and then take in the album from front to back tomorrow night. Been a fan for 26-27 years... hanging onto every little tid-bit of blink news/conspiracies/announcements/live shows/news over the last year+ has been exactly what I needed at this point in my life.

Cherish these last 30 hours or so leading up to OMT being released... you never know when this ride is going to end for good. blink-182 for life.

I did not like the first 4 songs but I really like this. It sounds like Neighborhoods/Dogs Eating Dogs.

Zane interview was great. The closest thing we will ever get to those old VH1 Behind The Music docs. Just wish it was longer.

 

Really awesome interview. The Jerry Finn part was something special too.

 

But also, at the same time, he asked them very personal/uncomfortable questions that most people wouldn’t touch (and most interviewers wouldn’t have the relationship with the band to be able to appropriately ask anyway). So it wasn’t like he was JUST blindly praising them haha

 

I say this every single time I preorder an album but....why do I preorder albums?! At this point I almost wish I could cancel my Mark variant which still hasn't shipped so I can just pick it up from the store on Friday.

Alright more people are chiming in with spoilers... one big takeaway was something I had a suspicion about when people (mostly reddit) were complaining about the lack of interviews/media/accessibility . They wanted to do the band again on their own terms... no random interviews/press with every outlet asking for access, no awkward meet & greets, play where/when they want to play.
