Man this is a great interview. Definitely going to spoiler tag things but them talking about the Skiba-era is wild.

Biggest shocks for me -
Tom reaching out to Mark when "Bored to Death" came out, trying to be cordial and complementary, and Mark was a total dick to him lol. And also that Travis was apparently open to the idea of Tom coming back as far back as like 2020-ish and was kinda sort pushing for them to be the "real" blink-182.

 

HOLY SHIT GUYS, my indie exclusive vinyl from Bull Moose just arrived! Gonna listen later tonight and watch the interview after...might even do a "first impressions" reaction video I'm so hyped haha.

If there is a spiritual bcr song on this record this one is the spiritual +44 song. Marks strongest verse / bridge sections so far.

Travis’s drum parts continue to be subversively simple and so deliberate.

Cool the intro riff is a lot like adam’s song or btd but on bass instead of guitar.

Great interview. Zane is the goat.

 

That got a good laugh out of me. I also laughed when they asked Tom how he felt about watching blink press on without him, and he said "Are you guys recording this?"

 

I love how positive he is but COME ON. Does he really think this is the best album they've ever done? I'd be shocked if it was. Seems like it's gonna be good for sure, but the hyperbole is off the charts.

Maybe won’t be their best to me, but I like all the songs so far. It’s off to a great start.

 

his role as an interviewer is rosey eyed hype man with some great anecdotes and questions. he does this with everyone. it gets killer footage and reactions from the bands. seems less like he’s being disingenuous and more like he throws all of himself into his craft. like really invests himself in records before the interviews.

 

I'm so damn excited to pre-game the OMT release with blink videos, this interview again and then take in the album from front to back tomorrow night. Been a fan for 26-27 years... hanging onto every little tid-bit of blink news/conspiracies/announcements/live shows/news over the last year+ has been exactly what I needed at this point in my life.

Cherish these last 30 hours or so leading up to OMT being released... you never know when this ride is going to end for good. blink-182 for life.
