Well all of the people in the hostel were European, many from the U.K. who have their own problems so... they didn't really infer as much a single they did ask about my opinion in which i just bashed American Imperialism, patriotism, and so on.

Canadians were like... yeah dude just destroyed our dollar with a tweet.

Indonesians were just curious as well.

But everyone I met weren't fond of him.

 

Well this is completely expected

 

imagine you're a million years old and you're just now like "see! the media can't be trusted! they lied about who won the debate!" like, nah, the media can't be trusted because its beholden to the class interests of its owners, and because it is an apparatus of the state.

 

The only reason we think it acts on the interest of our behalf is mostly because that's how we view our leaders, it's kind of a weird split. Obviously some reporters are better than others and shows are more left than others but its pretty much the same split we see when neoliberal bias is "fair" or "equal".

Also the French dude in our thread told us every media channel seems to be yelling about fear, endlessly or at least the ones he named.

Larry Levitt, who I trust pretty well on health care, tweeted about an hour ago that he hasn't been able to find any examples of insurance companies counting rape/assault as a pre-ex...

But my personal guess is all the things that come along with rape, like trauma induced anxiety and depression, don't get counted as part of assault-driven coverage denial.

 

Even if it isn't in there, companies should never ever have the right to reject people for those reasons or most in general.

 

We should just not have insurance companies

 

I dunno for whatever reason it was floating around on my twitter timeline today...with a couple of the same "he's running" jokes haha

 

I don't know if I could find it again but I read an account the other day of someone who was raped and lost her coverage because her insurance deemed her at risk of HIV/AIDS.

But yeah. The theoretical possibility that no insurance company would do this doesn't really make the bill less abhorrent.
