Holy shit...just won meet & greet passes from the local radio station for Sunday afternoon.

I kinda wonder how I'm going to get through with it without making a big deal about them not playing This Must Be My Dream live.

You deserve to know why. At least ask.

Haha, that's prolly my favourite song from the record. Definitely up there.

Haha yeah, I want the real reason, not "it's hard to sing".

It's not even hard to sing, haha. I know for a fact he could.

Not for a fact, but I'm fairly certain :crylaugh:

It's pretty hard to sing, you can tell there's some strain on the vocals and it's definitely in Matty's higher register for sustained periods of time - and those explosive lines in the chorus. The minute he cited that as a reason in an interview, definitely made sense to me. Banger of a song though so I'd love to see it live too.

Yeah, seems like "It's hard to sing" is a real enough reason not to play it, to me

tried to sing it at karaoke recently, it's hard as hell

(i mean most 1975 songs are difficult to sing but that one felt insurmountable)

get out of here, "it's hard to sing" is probably the realest fucking reason. If he's not singing it, then if he did, his voice would be run ragged by the end of the tour.

    Si
singing that and ballad night after night would be tough

Matty is still like super young and improving his voice constantly, as he grows as a vocalist he may be able to nail it later down the road but for now it's totally understandable that he doesn't want to risk destroying his voice

I've seen him down a bottle of wine and smoke while singing which he should also probably avoid if he doesn't want to damage his voice

I'm just wondering if he'll ever go up the octave in the outro to A Change of Heart

well not doing something you're addicted to is substantially harder than just not singing a song

No way is it harder to sing than some other songs in the set. Also, when they did play it, lots of vocal backing tracks. Which I'm fine with. Just didn't announce to the world that you're going to play specific songs on a tour to get fans to come see you again, and then drop it after a few shows. That's what makes it obnoxious.

Going to have a good time either way!

the number of people who showed up for that one song is, i would imagine, completely negligible.

Chorus peeps, I have an extra ticket to the show in Denver tonight. It's free for anyone who wants it, I'll shoot it to you via email. A friend dropped out last second unable to go.
