I like Hard Times (don't love it) but don't like Told You So that much

Doesn't look like this album will get near Self-titled for me, but I'm certain they'll be a good few songs in the album I'll really enjoy

  3. I always forget their self titled album even exists. I raaaarely bust that one out. But I'm loving everything from this new one so far. These two songs have been on repeat all week.

uninspired/straight up dirivitive music exist and I am pretty sure that is bad and adds nothing to the conversation.

I'm the same way. I only like maybe 3 of the songs on that album. I try and listen every few months to see if it clicks, but it's been a few years now. Maybe I should give it up haha

I need a leak ASAP, I am very excited for this album. Will still buy it when it comes out, just impatient

I'm seriously falling head over heels for this band. S/T and BNE are phenomenal.

It's funny. I've been listening to Paramore/have known who they are for probably 7-8 years, but they are just now becoming one of my favorite bands. Good timing, though, with the new record imminent.

  11. I would normally say "I hope there's some rockier oldschool Paramore stuff on here" but I'm a sucker for a nice cohesive album where it stays pretty much the same throughout, where nothing feels out of place at all. I hope that's the case with this one. I'd love for the whole album to be at least 85% like this, but maybe with some ballads or something in there. I don't want there to be any punk rock "For A Pessimist..." kind of jams on it.

like @kaylasananjou has said, I'm v intrigued about Idle Worship with that Aaron Weiss co-write

I'm the opposite, I really want a diverse album like their last. I think they're so good at all different styles it seems a bit of a waste to stick to one. I think this album will all be this vibe though, I definitely don't expect anything like Pessimist.

  15. I like the idea of them doing whole albums to show off one particular style or vibe.

I think we're pretty much done hearing pre-S/T-type material but I would still love to hear the continued natural progression of that stuff, like Part II or last Hope were on S/T.

tbh i dont know if there was room for progression after bne with that sound, seemed like a dead end and they did all they wanted to do in that style. s/t was the logical next step.

Im banking on something of the part2 variety in this album. That's what made self titled such a great album. Loveddddd thw variety

also still not sold on hard times but I've listened to told you so a BUNCH this week

I think Told you so is better in every conceivable way. One might argue hard times has a bigger/catchier chorus but the "hard times" vocals are so awkward it kills it for me. Not to mention the instrumentation is boring as well.

After the first two songs I doubt we'll be getting something that varied, I think this will be much more focused. Maybe we'll get something a bit Part IIish fed through the filter of this new sound but even then I'm not sure how well it'd fit. I'm interested either way though.

"Told You So" just gets super repetitive to me. I've heard it like three times and it already started getting a little much. "Hard Times" has grown on me every listen.

You're probably right but idk....paramore has surprised me a ton in the past.

And yeah hard times stood out much much more than told You so.

also, music aside, the told you so video is already one of my favorites by them. Love the red theme.
