I won tickets to see Gojira and Kyng tonight in Birmingham. So I'm pretty stoked on that! Here now waiting with a buddy.

I'm seeing them again tomorrow with Opeth in Nashville as well. 1st then 2nd time seeing them. Can't wait.

 

Been out of the death metal loop for the past couple of years but I've been listening to Decapitated's Nihility. Not sure why I didn't check this band out when I was more into death metal because they're pretty much right up my alley. Technical but the riffs are memorable and it's not too brutal to the point where it's tough to listen to. Can tell a lot of deathcore bands loved this band, haha.

 

I need dive into Decapitated more. They're coming to town in a few months with Thy Art Is Murder and Fallujah and I'm thinking I might go.

 

Saw Gojira this past weekend, sounded so good. Played quite a few older songs as well.

Periphery's singer, Spencer, got sick on tour and they had to play an instrumental set in Hong Kong. Their songs sound awesome as instrumentals, so it's a pretty great set.

 

Check out The American Way. I don't know how well it's aged, but I loved it back in the day so I'm pretty excited to finally see Sacred Reich live.

 

So, so good.

They did that a few years ago in Richmond when they toured with Darkest Hour and Revocation I believe. Spencer seems to get sick a fair amount, but if it means an instrumental Periphery set then I ain't gonna complain.

Will add it to the queue tomorrow. I've been listening to a lot if the bands that are playing Maryland Deathfest decently so that'll break up the monitony.

 

And they're also one of the only heavy acts playing Riot Fest this year so hopefully the album will be awesome. It's a lot more straightforward than your typical Mike Patton release so I'm stoked.

fuck, Khemmis are so good. a dude walked into my work the other day wearing one of their t-shirts and i had to try not to dweeb out too hard ha. Was a nice change of pace from all the 21 pilots tees i see.

awww man, fuck that. I wasn't feeling their first album but that last one they released fucking ripped. Sucks when bands break up just as they're starting to blossom and grow as musicians.

Yeah I was never into any of the Periphery vocalist's voices

 

I feel like some of you would enjoy Heretoir's new album. It's atmospheric/depressive black metal in the vein of Alcest, Lantlos, and Harakiri For The Sky.
