Gore and B Sides are the only Deftones albums as of now that I don't own physically.

I love the packaging on B-Sides. The photo booklet has some really dope shots, and the brief track notes by various members of the band are pretty insightful. It's pretty easy to track down too, unless you're talking about the vinyl.

    Interesting take.

I love Gore. Can actually see it ending up as one of my favourite Dftones albums. At least the most listenable as a front to back album.

What I love about it, is that i find it a lot more melodic and catchy. chino seems to have brough a lot of his Team Sleep colours to the group for this album.

I see they are releasing b-sides and rarities for RSD. Their cover of Simple Man blows me away every time. I never would've put Lynyrd Skynrd and Deftones together but it works so well.

Yeah I'm talking about the vinyl. The CD version was cool too though.

Been jamming to SNW a lot lately and I've been really coming around to it. The first four songs on the album are arguably the best start tonajnalbum this band has ever had.

  7. Looks like Gore debuted at #2 with 65k sold. I was expecting more to be honest.

@Deathco_019 I listened to SNW today, and even though it's near the bottom of my personal ranking, there's still a lot to love about it. As you said, those first four songs are killer. "Xerxes," "Kimdracula," and "Rivière" are fantastic, as well.

Rivière is their best closer imo. Pretty much my only complaint with the self-titled is that Moana doesn't feel like a proper closer to me. honestly think it should have just ended with Anniversary.

Lol Moana is my favorite closer and maybe top 5 Deftones songs. The way Chino's voice floats against those massive riffs just kills me.

Eh, I just don't feel like it does anything that wasn't already done (better) throughout the rest of the album. I'd love to feel that strongly about it, as closers are very important to me and I feel like that one holds that album back from being basically perfect in my eyes.

I think all of their closers are great. They really know how to properly open and close an album.

    Sleekest of beaks. So Good.

It matched the first week sales of Koi No Yokan, and 3,000 more then Diamond Eyes did. So i would say a damn solid debut still.

Audrey and I pretty much have the exact same Deftones opinions lol, although I do like "Moana" a lot.

  16. I agree, I think it's a solid first week. I guess I was hoping it would sell more, especially with all the positive reviews.

    hmmm

Pink Maggit is their best closer; I still get goosebumps listening to that song. A perfect end to a perfect album.

"What Happened To You?" would be my favorite closer, "Hexagram" my favorite opener and song.

My favorite closer they've made would have to be Riviere by a comfortable margin. So so good.

On another note, I'm very salty I wasn't able to get my hands on one of those B Sides and Rarities gold pressings. Sigh

My favorite closers are Rivière and Pink Maggit, but Rubicon is definitely high in the ranks now. But it's like picking a favorite Jimmy Eat World closer; there aren't really any wrong answers.

theres alot of deftones I havent heard in a long time or at all. I youtubed cherry waves and sextape and liked them a bit. Im drawn to the vocals that can be ethereal but I was never really interested by the bands instrumentals. didnt like gore that much except for the opener. give me some of their best tracks I should check out?
