Nobody is saying there is no difference. But supporting an apartheid state, for example, is an understandable non-starter for some people regardless of degree.

It feels kinda like refusing the pull the lever because you think its terrible someone tied up a bunch of people to the trolly tracks and really instead of arguing about which track the trolly should be sent down we should stop people from getting tied up in the first place. Which is all true. But meanwhile that trolly is still going to kill more people if we don't pull the lever than if we do.
