I don't think the TOYPAJ artwork is bad, it's just not as memorable or iconic as something like the Enema cover.

This is what I remember as well.

 

Their vocals are not but they are credited as songwriters. The vocals are by a guy named Ron Froese and it was co produced by a guy named Sick Jacken who is from a rap group called Psycho Realm.

Here's a behind the scenes music video of the making of it. There's a shot of Mark behind the mixing board as well as Jerry Finn I believe (it's hard to tell in 240p haha).

I always thought it was genius to put a pornstar on the cover.

 

I loved the ded artwork, the ep doesn't do it justice. Expect something faster and more intense but you're met with songs about the day after Christmas.

 

Haha wow, you just made me remember that I loved the artwork when it was announced for this exact reason. With the art + its title, I was expecting an EP full of Stockholm Syndromes or something.

That was pretty stupid of me to think

 

I not only misheard "faith fell short this time" I also misheard "so lost in this illusion" and "I'll be alone if you'd let me" (instead of "are we alone, can you feel it?"). I have the worst ears.

According to his LinkedIn, he's been their merch manager since 1995? Damn. I also see he has a credit for the +44 cover.

I have a feeling this album is going to be great with everything from the music to the art and merchandising. I have a feeling their logo is going to be reinvented as well. It's a new era after all that deserves to have their own iconic design.

 

Within a space of 12/13 months, I'll have gotten a new Jurassic Park film, new Star Wars film and a new blink-182 album. 2005 me really lucked out in 2015/16.

Perfect. Colorful is exactly what I think we all want.

Hope that means the album art isn't black and white.
