I'm still very much on the fence with Tekken. The last game was good, but didn't grab me like 3 or 4. I think I'm much more interested in the over the top games like MVC, Injustice, and even Guilty Gear.

I know no one pays attention about smite

but like North America sent three teams to the Smite Masters and only one made it out of the first round

basically EU owns Smite

 

NA sucks in most comp scenes

 

it's kinda surreal with how NA Smite teams even created a super team to beat EU teams and they still couldn't do it.

 

Finished Watch Dogs 2 today. Definitely really liked it over all even if it became pretty repetitive by the end. I liked the actual ending but thought the last mission itself was underwhelming, I was surprised when the gold trophy popped up signifying I beat it. Had a very positive experience with the game though and I really liked the characters

Gonna take a break from games for a few days probably then will start my replay of the first Tomb Raider reboot, then finally Rise of the Tomb Raider

 

I may or may not have streamed playing a MCS song in Rocksmith dressed as a character from Hotline Miami.

 

I am digging what Injustice 2 did with Joker. Sort of like what they were going for with Leto's but without going way over the top. And the crowbar is great.

 

I'm enjoying Battleborn, but I rrrrrreally fucking hate that third story mission.

 

Except EG in Dota :D

 

Played the Prey demo. Overall I enjoyed it and could see myself picking up the game, though probably not right away.

 

Beat Horizon. Probably gonna wrap up Nioh finally, and start a new 2017 GOTY.

so after everyone's beat Horizon and the dust is settled. what's the consensus? seems like it's a long game where you do a bunch of the same thing. and don't take that the wrong way. some of my fave games are that too: skyrim and red dead are kinda that way imo

 

IMO Horizon is one of the most interesting open world games I've ever played. Even the bandit camp clearing has a unique side story, and "radio towers" are actually super fun platforming on a fucking metal brachiosaurus.

Plus the story is p good.

 

I was trying to think about what my GOTY list looks like the other day, probably something like :

1. Nier
2. Persona 5
3. Zelda

and 100% locks for a top ten by the end of the year. Nioh, Yakuza 0, Night in the Woods also pretty likely to keep spots on my list. I'd throw DQ8 and Ys Origin in there if I felt like putting on new releases of older games (Ys Origin is a straight up port so I'd probably skip putting that there but DQ8 does have some new content so it's fair game, IMO).

This week brings Trails in the Sky the Third, which is 99.9% going to join my top 3 as one of my favorites of the year because all four games I've played in the franchise have been phenomenal and the general consensus seems to be that this is every bit as good as anything else in the series.

I gotta finish Horizon (only about 10 hours in) but I really liked what I got around to and it could be on there too, maybe. There are some other odds and ends from the year I need to get around to/finish (Snake Pass, despite everything I've heard I'm still curious about Mass Effect Andromeda, Thimbleweed Park, that new Torment, Hollow Knight). May will probably be good for most of that, outside of the previously mentioned Trails game it's pretty much just Fire Emblem for that month.

 

I'm not finished with horizon but I'm pretty close. it's great. I don't really have any major complaints.

 

I'm hyped for this year's far cry. Hoping it's vampires or Vietnam 2.

 

Got a PS3 back but it keeps overheating and shutting off lol
