I bet the Browns pick a QB either late today or tomorrow though. Dobbs is the name I keep coming back to.

 

Dudes the Jags are about to be a very different team.

Not saying we will do any better than 5-11/6-10 a lot could and will still go wrong.

But man I am stoked to have more balance, and not be shaking my head at the team trying to convert 3rd and 13 with Bortles throwing to a bracket-covered ARob all game.

I could totally see the Eagles drafting Mixon.

 

Yeah, and this is why I liked the trade with your Texans. They clearly liked Watson more than Hue and Sashi did. Our FO places a high value on first and second round picks. And the way some of the top rated guys slipped, it really made the decision easier to move back because you knew there were still good players available at positions of need. It's just good business for both teams.

Maybe this means Green can be used to his strengths better too though. If he can improve half as much as Landon Collins did last year by not having to be the centerfielder, he won't be a liability

 

That is definitely the name that has been most talked about in later rounds locally. Even amidst the Trubisky noise there was sentiment we would take two QB's, which I never agreed with. But it was well reported during the senior bowl and through the combine and workouts that they liked Dobbs. Now that we past in the first round I would imagine the national media is picking up on those reports and notes now.

 

Still think Mixon is going to the Bengals because thats just how things work.

 

Not sure what makes you see that....Eagles traditionally don't take major gambles with character risks in the draft under Howie.

A few weeks ago, someone asked Howie about drafting Mixon and while he said they were considering all options he also asked the reporter something to the effect of: "If we draft him, how do I explain that to my wife and children?".

Which ya know....is quite valid.

Worst case scenario with Watson is what, he becomes Alex Smith/Tyrod Taylor? Like, the Chiefs have already shown you can make the playoffs with a QB of that caliber if you have a good enough defense. Considering the Texans have managed to drag Hoyer, Osweiler and Savage to the playoffs, that's a good sign.

On the other hand, they may need more than that to get in as a wild card. Tennessee should be pushing for a playoff spot this year too, and actively plugging their most glaring holes.

 

However, on the other side of the coin, Joe Douglas who joined the team this year and is supposedly running the draft with Howie has said that Terrell Suggs is a good person which, well...ya know. No.

 

I still stand by my belief that Tennessee doesn't really scare me that much and everyone's sleeping on Indianapolis this offseason

 

I don't think it's so much that people are sleeping on Indy but rather recognizing they aren't a good team. The division is actually pretty close to equal right now. Should be good competition all around.

 

Also, Solomon Thomas sacking Mitch Trubisky was the photo the 49ers chose as his draft picture. 49ers may be my NFC team. I just vibe with that level of spite so much.

 

They could be a let down team, but from afar I like what I see

 

It's a mix of both IMO, they're realizing they're not a good team after these past couple of seasons but not recognizing the sneaky moves they've made to change that since firing Grigson.

 

I have a feeling teams will quit looking forward to being scheduled against the AFC South soon

 

So never mind, I guess the Eagles got a defensive end who can play cornerback in the 1st so pick is cool now.

 

The schedule is also reasonably easy this year, so it wouldn't surprise me if they look better than they are.

 

They'll be a team to watch out for once they get Cousins.
