That's was supposed to say isn't. As in, there's not a damn reason to take Trubs second overall, let alone trade up for him.

I think John Lynch won this draft. Got extra picks, still got Solomon Thomas, and then traded back into 1 for a STEAL (Foster at 31). What a fucking great first draft as GM so far. Kinda doesnt even matter what else they do since they already got two major impact players.

 

Cleveland did better though.

 

Foster apparently getting a second surgery on his shoulder. Explains why he fell but still worth the pick at 31.

 

Idk, now that I think about it, I think Hooker makes more sense for Allen in IND. It sounds like they want to use Johnathan Hankins in the role that you'd use Allen for in a 3-4.

I'm excited. It means that they can use Clayton Geathers in the box more, or that they can use Darius Butler more in the slot, and that TJ Green is on the field less when that happens. I think having Hooker is gonna make that whole secondary better.

Foster would have been great too though, and ILB is still a mess

It absolutely makes more sense. It's the safer pick for sure. Like Hooker is gonna be great, don't get me wrong.

 

Honestly not entirely sure I agree! Cleveland did great but Foster at 31 might legit be the pick of the draft.

Garrett was a no brainer but I'm not high on Peppers. Njoku is very good but weren't they already having success with Maximum Barnidge?

 

Barnidge is so fragile

 

Garrett, Peppers, Njoku, AND an extra first round pick next year. That's huge too, don't forget. Also Barnidge is old. And apparently Foster is having anther surgery

 

Good on the Colts for admitting sooner rather than later that TJ Green was an awful draft pick. Didn't they take him like in round two?? Lol

 

It does make a lot of sense for Hue Jackson to go with a Barnidge/Njoku package.

 

Actually maybe they drafted a TE that high because they know it's all Osweiler can throw to

 

Oh true. That was a great trade though on both sides. I love the Texans moving up for Watson. Can't think of a better team for him to have realistically landed. They overpaid a bit but he'll breathe way more life into the Texans offense even if he isn't one of those elite prospects.

Watson is EXACTLY who Arians would draft. Shit, he tried to make Logan Thomas work.

People also strongly believed the Saints wanted Mahomes and the Chiefs boned them too - hence why they traded up so far. Trading up above pick 11 wasn't just an overpay - it was intentional strategy haha.

Also there's not a doubt in my mind the Browns offered the best deal to move up for Trubisky, but SF preferred to take a lesser deal if it meant they could still draft Thomas.

 

The crazy thing about the Browns is even if they don't draft a QB this year and go 6-10 or something they can get ANYONE they want next year. They can trade up for Sam Darnold or another great prospect, they can sign Jimmy Garoppolo, they can get Kirk Cousins, hell they might be able to get Alex Smith or Andy Dalton somehow. They basically have enough ammunition to get a prospect or starter that's not a complete lock for their team.

 

Absolutely, it's Redskins/Texans last year. Redskins had a great offer for someone to move up and take Fuller, so they turned to the Texans and asked for a trade so the Redskins didn't have to fall as far and they could both get their guys for a lesser trade.

 

The Browns were like, we are getting out of this draft with Myles Garrett and either the QB WE WANT or another first round pick for a QB later.

They have dealt themselves a good hand by continuing to be disciplined through the team sucking under Saschi Brown.
