  2. Someone on r/radiohead suggested that they might broadcast a new From The Basement with OK Computer and AMSP tracks on the 21st of May, which is a pretty cool idea!

Since I started listening to this band four years ago, I've always been a fan of OK Computer, but it wasn't until just recently that it's finally clicked with me and I'm head-over-heels in love with it.

The opening duo of Airbag and Paranoid Android is superb and the atmospheric trio of Subterranean Homesick Alien, Exist Music, and Let Down is so eerie and wonderful. Karma Police is such a great sing-along and then Fitter Happier is so creepy in the best ways. Then you've got Crawling Up The Walls which is just so haunting and powerful, especially with those strings. It might be my favorite on the album at this point (sorry Let Down). No Surprises is a lovely breather that I also can't help but sing along to and The Tourist is a fantastic closer for the album.

Sorry to gush so much about an album that I'm sure has been discussed to death, but, god damn, whatever I wasn't hearing before I'm hearing now. This album is just such a thrill of a listen and I can't get enough of it now. It's probably my second favorite album from them at this point, behind Kid A. Lovely album and I'm so glad it's really sinking into me in time for its 20th anniversary.

Haha I've always absolutely adored the album but it's become an entirely different beast to me the last few months. Such an unbelievable album

AMSP is good on record. But some of the songs....like the numbers or present tense are so good live.

Gave that record a whole new life for me.

  7. I hope I'm not annoying anyone with posting about the posters popping up but so far I've heard about 4 in Melbourne!

KoL feels short to me and there's maybe 3 tracks that do not do a whole lot for me. Wasnt huge on the B sides last I listened either. However, it's really impressively put together at its best moments. It's got the "it" factor with its tones. It might even be one of their more out there releases creatively. The sounds they got on there are very cool. Very astute use of some weird ass FM synthesis sounds. Bloom is incredible.

Last 3 tracks on The King of Limbs are excellent. However, some of the earlier tracks are just hard to get through...."Feral" and "Morning Mr. Magpie" are super weak Radiohead songs. Id still call it a good to very good record though, and "Little by Little" is underrated. "Bloom" and "Lotus Flower" are interesting as well.

I agree with most that Hail to the Thief would benefit with 3-4 less tracks.

In Rainbows is still peak Radiohead in my opinion. With Kid A and OK Computer just behind. The Bends also fantastic, but has a track or 2 I could do without.

  12. I loooove Bloom and Magpie to open and then the last half of it (Lotus through Separator) is absolutely perfect. A couple of the b sides are excellent as well

Yeah, it's a weird album because it's easy to trash in the context of Radiohead's discography but that aside it's got some absolutely killer stuff.

    Bloom
    Magpie
    Lotus Flower
    Supercollider
    The Daily Mail
    Give Up the Ghost
    Separator

^that's a massively better album though its brevity probably still would have garnered some serious disappointment after the epicness that was In Rainbows + bsides

I don't really feel like listening to OKC very often. Love the spaciness of Subtarranean though.

I was hooked after my first listen. Incredible album. It's a top 3 Radiohead record for me.

And skyrocketed after seeing some of the tracks performed live

Glass Eyes, Ful Stop and ocassionally Daydreaming and Decks Dark do it for me. But idk I can't get excited by the rest of AMSP.

I only really feel like listening through OKC once every couple years or so. It's a great album, though. Hell, Kid A is my favorite of theirs and top 10 all-time, yet I still have to be in a particular mood.

In Rainbows and AMSP are, by far, their best accessible records that are easy to put on just about any time.

Agreed that it's a great album and I would never imply otherwise bc that would be crazy. I've explored it alot over the years. I'm just alot more excited personally by what they did with the 4 albums after.
