Yes. It takes from the Borderlands lore but doesn't require you to know any of it, it should be fairly easy to get into even if you have no familiarity with the franchise.

 

I don't like Borderlands/their humor is not for me and I loved TFTB, though in all fairness I love Telltale games. I'd judge whether or not you want to play it based on whether you like Telltale, it's their formula.

 

So Outlast 2 is terrifying. Not sure if I've seen a game with this level of brutality/sadism/general-fucked-up-ness. Seems like they wanted to make a video game for horror fans and absolutely no one else and that's cool with me. The first enemy, Val(? I think) scared me so bad I had to stop for like an hour. The two faction thing is super interesting. I'm all in on the story.

The gameplay is exactly the same as the first when it comes to "stealth." You'll probably always get seen and its super frustrating so just run like hell, definitely seems to be where I'm seeing the criticisms coming from.

So this happened last night top 4 in solo play, #1 in team play (Though I was long dead hah). This game is great, playing another hour or two before D&D tonight.

 

I don't get the appeal of that game.

 

it is! it's one of my favorite games. but you'd definitely understand it better if you've at least played bl2. lol

 

Finally, a good PS Plus game.

It'sthe first type of survival/battle royale games that I've really enjoyed. Day Z had promise but was too drawn out, this with its 100 player get in-get out in under 30 minutes matches is like Day Z but with a much faster pace and forced encounters with other players as the map size gradually grows smaller and smaller.

It's intense, but in a non-stressful way and I'm having a ton of fun with it so far. The beginning can be pure chaos when you parachute and realize you have 4 or 5 dudes in the sky with you.

I wholeheartedly recommend anyone with a decent PC rig (Because tbh optimization isn't great atm) to try it, I'm having a blast.

 

All the Smite pros I followed have switched from playing smite constantly to now only playing Battlegrounds and it's fun to watch.

 

Pretty interested in COD WWII, will most likely pick it up now.

Splatoon 1 sold around 5 million copies. That means two things:

1. Splatoon is a big fucking deal, way bigger than most think. The only PS4 exclusive that sold more than that is Uncharted 4, for comparison.

2. Splatoon 2 will probably do worse in the short term (because of install bases) but maybe better in the long term (again, because of install bases). It will definitly sell some Switches.

My Gamestop has 3 Switches, I have 3 and half hours left of work...We'll see.

 

Lost 3 divisions after one loss. This is why I don't play much rocket league anymore.

 

Got a Switch and Zelda. Really excited, love the look and feel of everything.

 

It's always funny to realize that if they wanted, they could, for example, buy every Japanese third party developer and Nintendo and Sony could do nothing about it lmao

 

I miss Socom II so much. Honestly one of the best online gaming experiences I've ever had.

 

Sounds like Roger Jr. may have been taken out of Tekken 7's western release due to animal rights activist concerns. Kinda perplexing.

 

Prey demo now available on PS4 and Xbox One, but not PC (update) in case anyone's like me and is on the fence about this game.

 

Get a Pro Controller. Those joy-con things blow, way too small.

I've taken a major break from Zelda because it was consuming all my time. I prefer playing for only a short period of time a day, like an hour or less. With Zelda you can put in an hour of playing and accomplish little to nothing. For a few days there I'd get home from work and spend 3 or so hours an evening on Zelda and not have time for anything else. Can't say it was wasted time though....
