Could be anything, which is nice, I'd like that surprise.

To me that would just mean Music for Cars would follow a similar aesthetic and after, they would change up the logo, the theme of their typography, the neon frame, etc. Then again, this band does strange things and I also don't believe a word they say.

Yeah I can see this being the last time they use the album cover/intro.

    Maybe they'll go grey

I always thought the next album was going to be dark dark blue in the background and neon for the rectangle 1975 logo, but I'm guessing that's not gonna happen

I'm embarrassed to admit I've spent more than enough time over the last year or so trying to figure out what color scheme the next cover uses.

instead of a rectangle they use an oval :0

Everytime I see a rainbow, I try to guess where they're going to land. Yep.

Matty/the band are always so dramatic. I'm betting even they don't know what they mean by "end of an era" but just think 3rd album=trilogy sounds dope and nothing will drastically change

I hope the album covers/intros change because a trilogy makes sense for those.

That would be so dope if there is another trilogy that follows, and each of those albums share a similar intro track that is redone slightly each time.

If Music For Cars opens up with an even more epic version of 'The 1975', I will be so jazzed.

Or totally a capella/a capella with choir (especially if they're going for the regal/vanitas themes)

edit: Regarding the next version of "The 1975"

I wonder how that regal thing would fit in with an album like Music for Cars, which feels like their most electronic EP.

feel like i saw matty say something about playing with the bbc philharmonic orchestra being partly influential for their next album a while ago.

Next album prediction: It's going to contain the heaviest song they've ever recorded, and it's going to be a version of Head. Cars. Bending. played like they do live. I'd lose my mind

Someday I want to write a song that's as good as the outro to Head.Cars.Bending.

I want to say when ILIWYS came out I read somewhere that they were going to keep drawing influence from previous decades and that motown and doo wop would be next in some way.

EDIT: ”I’ve got an idea of what the next record’s gonna be and it’s completely different,” Healy “excitedly reveals” in the interview. “The first music I listened to was Motown and Doo-Wop. ‘One Fine Day’ by The Chiffons was my first favorite song, and that really set me up to how I write music, so I think we could go towards that on the next record.” Some interview from alt press.

Why so late? Haha. Change of Heart is something really special for such a simple song. I'm not a big collector of stuff, I'm not a variant collector or anything but the deluxe of this seems like a good purchase if I could find it for the right price.

Not sure, but there just the way the notes hit in the background didn't really hit until I listened through last night...just a really nice and tranquil pacing and sound.

And I had to get the boxset, for an album as important to me as this one it's probably the only one I would drop that money in as of now.

I was confused, thought you were just now listening to the record, haha. But yeah, very detailed, and really thrusts the song/record. Such a chill track in the best way.

Oh heck no haha. Been listening to this baby since Day 1.

Always nice to listen to after not listening to the whole thing for a while.

I think I listen to it in full way too much compared to listening to just the songs themselves. The only time I really do that is when I'm at my parents house and my 11 y/o brother wants to hear all the ones without bad words in them.
