California dudes (or people in their distro foot print): Who can get me more Contains No Juice from Alvarado Street Brewing and are the rest of their beers that good? Because I got to have that beer tonight and it is the best NEIPA I've ever had.

Does anyone have access to Tired Hands and would be willing to get some of their Milkshake IPA and do a trade with me? I'm headed to Treehouse this weekend so I should be able to have some of that to trade with (as long as the limits aren't small when I go). I can also get Nightshift and Trillium fairly easily if needed, or some Maine Beer or Allagash sometimes too.

I can't get you some Tired Hands but if you're interested in any Ellison or Old Nation's NEIPA's (right now M-43 has some of the most buzz of any brew in the country, IMO; I've been seeing reviews/chatter on it everywhere) let me know!

I've heard some great things about M-43. I'll see what I'm able to get this weekend and let you know.

I blame Tired Hands for all the insane 4 pack prices in NJ right now.

It's probably not their fault, but I still blame them.

For sure. And no rush on anything; M-43 is now statewide here so it's easy to get. I would obviously take some tree house beers but that's not a necessity at all. I would be down for anything you can get locally to you without you having to make a trip. Not too many beers I want to try to track down and trade for anymore.

M-43 is excellent. It's one of my favorite Michigan beers now, and I'm so glad that it's being produced/distributed more.

Back in Budapest for a week to celebrate finishing my MA thesis by seeing a bunch of friends and checking out the craft beer scene, which was starting when I studied here and is now growing.

Major beer haul today, including a bunch of stuff I've never tried before: Green Flash Passion Fruit Kicker, New Belgium Trippel, Knee Deep Citra Extra Pale Ale + Stoutella, Brewery Ommegang Abbey Ale + Three Philosophers w/ Strawberries & Cranberries, Stone Ripper, Ballast Point Victory at Sea w/ Coconut, Alesmith Speedway Stout + .394 Pale Ale, and Goose Island Sofie. Excited to work my way through these the next month!

I've seen so much backlash over Wicked Weed selling to AB InBev on social over the last couple days and I don't really follow much beer related stuff on social

Holy hell, just tried Founders Sumatra Mountain Brown. This might be my favorite brew I've had from them.

Yeah, there was a ton of backlash. I understand why, but for me, I just don't care about these things. If I can get Wicked Weed in Michigan, I'll be stoked.
Killer beer. In my top 3, I think, among Founders beers.

I agree for the most part. As long as quality doesn't dip. But I do understand where the smaller breweries are coming from, having the conglomerates taking shelf space away, etc. I saw a ton of breweries already dropped out of the invitational they are hosting too. I'm seen some well worded posts from a few small breweries about it.

At least I'll save a few bucks not doing my annual Funkatorium Invitational vacation this year.

I still need to pick up some Sumatra brown this year. I loved it when I had it last year.

Haven't seen it around here yet. Funky Buddha has a bunch of seasonal porters and browns right now. A French toast double brown that is phenomenal.

Yeah, I agree. I was talking with my girlfriend about it and -- at least here in Michigan -- the main battle isn't with craft vs. macro beer, it's honestly craft vs. craft. Trying to get the beer of the brewery I work at on tap is tough when everyone wants Founders/Bells/Shorts/etc. I find that to be the true battle, which sucks for me in my job.

Yeah I'm kind of the same way. I understand why people get upset, but if I can get access to more beer and someone who made some great beer got a big payday out of it as a result I have a hard time being too upset.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

My buddy who works for in sales for a brewery here in Chicago is consistently dealing with the exact same issue. Even the neighborhood dives here in Chicago have at least one craft option on tap, but that's usually Revolution, Lagunitas, Half Acre, or (god forbid) Goose island. From the way my friend was describing it, they can get a tap handle pretty easily at more beer-centric places, but trying to break into those neighborhood places and your standard bar and grills has been a struggle.

Yup. 100%. And with us, the neighborhood places where we have been able to get into, they had like 8 taps and 1-2 are craft and those crafts are good for 1-2 kegs per week (1/2 bbls) which crush. So it's a balance. Yeah, we want to be on tap at the sweet craft beer bars, but they're only buying 1-2 kegs a month or every six weeks.
