There is less pressure for sure, but that's even more of a reason to throw some new concepts at the wall and see what sticks. They clearly have nothing for Payback: Why not keep Braun/Reigns as the main, keep Bray & Orton to fill the gap in star power, and fill an hour and a half of the show doing a King of the Ring? If Brock's not there, do what they did with Cena's US title reign and make that belt or the IC in this case the big deal for a couple of months.

I like the idea of having a unique title on one of the shows. I think it would be cool if they added a title that was defended 24/7 like the Hardcore Title used to be or that one DDT title that Joey Ryan wins and loses every other day. Maybe less comical than either of those titles, but just something that could add some excitement.

 

What they should do is have a mid-carder come out and start asking where Brock / the title is for a few weeks. Then have him demand Brock show up the following week on Raw. When Brock doesn't, have this person say that the people deserve better and unveil a Television Title (maybe even that this wrestler made himself) that he is now 'champion' of and puts it on the line each week against anyone via open competition ala Cena's US title run.

- Makes a title important
- can build up a new star / mid-carder at least
- maybe addresses a later Lesnar feud
- creates random fun matches that don't require a back story

I like the overall idea, but, the reality is a new title will not solve RAW's issues. The CW title certainly didnt; having the IC title instead of US title doesnt seemed to have changed anything. Having 5 titles instead of 4 just means there will be 5 title stories poorly written. Not to mention, with Brock not around, that means Roman and Braun would be chasing the TV title instead. Instead of what they have now, where Roman/Braun are competing for the Universal title shot, they'd be kind of forced to go for the interim title.

 

Love that in the Smackdown world, you can kill a wrestler backstage in an unprompted attack. Hell, you can even destroy the GM with no consequences. But god help you if you shove a ref

Oh my god, I'm watching the wizards/hawks game on tv right now. Pretty sure they just played Sami zayns theme music in the arena.

 

In defense, the ref's are the ones untrained to fight and there to try to prevent any issues backstage. They're completely defenseless against the wrestlers. And Bryan technically fired AJ for throwing Shane through the window, but Shane said fuck it and wanted to fight.

I wonder if in their kayfabe contracts, there's a clause that says any attacks against other wrestlers are fair game as long as they're alive afterwards

 

I always mark out a little when wrestlers' themes are played at sporting events. I was at a Hartford Wolfpack (minor league hockey) game earlier this year and they played Brock's theme when they would go on the power play.

They also just played the rugrats cartoon opening song now too, whoever is in charge of what's played for the team needs to get a raise or promotion

 

I was listening to yesterday's Le Batard show, and they were talking about in Japan an MMA fight thats happening between a 24 year old woman and a 12 year old girl. I popped real hard when they came back from commercial and we're telling their audience to go on YouTube and watched the Kenny Omega wrestling a 9 year old girl video.

Roddy isn't amazing on the mic, but he gets by just fine doing the cocky heel thing, which I'd hope is how WWE plans on using him eventually.
