I think he's worth being picked high if the situation's right, just not by a team like the 49ers.

Saying you shouldn't take a runningback high is laughable honestly haha. You should never reach. That's it. Elliot was a continual pro bowl caliber prospect. So was Gurley. Elite RBs play for a good while.

Elliot and Gurley are much more complete backs than Fournette, though.

I was fine with Zeke going high last year. I kind of wanted Miami to take him. But still.

Ehhh idkkk about that I think fournette is as good as Gurley and lacks lots of injury history

Out of the top 10 leading rushers last year, only Zeke was taken in the first round and 5 out of the ten were taken in the fourth or later. Plus, RBs have shorter careers than other positions and they are cheaper to get in FA. Given the way the rookie pay scale works, you're also overpaying the RB if he doesn't completely live up to the hype. Zeke is the 7th highest paid RB in the league, Bosa, taken a pick before Zeke, isn't even among the top 40 paid DL. If Bosa had turned out just to be mediocre you still have him on a fine deal, if Zeke did you are significantly overpaying.

  7. Of course the Eagles would be interested in Conley still.

Huh? They were the only team to request a copy of the police report from the incident. I haven't seen anything to suggest they are still interested in him since that, is there a link somewhere?

I think there is a lot of confusion (probably intentional by the Browns) about what they are doing. I think they are doing it in part to gauge the market for moving up from 12. However, if you actually listened to what they've said in pressers and in previous interviews leading up to the combine and workouts, Garrett is the guy. Sashi conceded they decided on their pick at one two weeks ago. They aren't taking a QB at one. I don't think they are likely to trade up either because they seem to be the only team seriously considering it and all of the top ten teams looking to move down probably want a big haul, which doesn't really fit what the Browns want to do. I think they really value the 33 and 52 picks.

i've been out of the loop the past few weeks; but what's up with the 9ers? aren't they seriously considering Trubisky? Or does it seem like they're set on Allen (or Garrett if the Browns are stupid)

  13. I'll look for it. I could have read something from a few days ago without noticing too.

I'm not as close to them, but I think the 49ers are more interested in guys like Adams, Solomon, Allen, or even Fournette. I don't think they would bring in two QB's in free agency to draft one at 2. That's a pretty hectic way to start your tenure as GM if you're Lynch.

49ers had to sign 2 QBs, they had 0 on the roster. It's unlikely they take a QB at 2, but it's definitely a possibility.

I wanna go to 49ers-Texans this year but only if it's a guarantee I get to watch Brian Hoyer play again

No open field elusiveness is selling him damn short haha that's just not true. He's very laterally quick and that's what makes his size so impressive.

Even if he isn't a good blocker right now he has the body to become one. If he didn't love contact or wasn't huge maybe id see that as a concern. But it's honestly probably a coaching failure if you can't get decent pass protection out of 240 lb Fournette.

Pass catching is a question. Definitely not the back for teams who do that a lot.

All true except pass blocking. That's like "your team has a bad goalie? Just draft a bigger guy."

    Best Browns information right now.

    Interview with Mike Silver:
Mike Silver Says Sashi Brown Confirmed Browns Have Known No. 1 Pick For Two Weeks

Local article using comments from other media sources.
Sashi Brown has known for 2 weeks who he'll pick at No. 1, per report; signs still point to Myles Garrett

Also, for what it's worth, Mary Kay has also said on a Reddit Q&A that she believes the Browns leaked the info about an internal rift to the media, but she doesn't have anything conclusive on it.

So fucking excited for the draft tomorrow. Haven't had time to pay close attention the last few months to draft specific stuff due to medical school and whatnot, but that almost makes it more exciting not having any idea what's gonna happen. Especially with the Browns up first.

I do agree that his blocking technique is substandard right now. But that's to be expected because blocking isn't his main job, and most college RB suck at blocking on the NFL level until they develop it. Elliott is a bit better but not by much. Gurley still isn't a very good pass protector.

It's nice to have a bigger back in pass protection because they're not useless against bull rushes. That's all I was trying to say. With most backs you're basically gonna have to teach them how to block correctly from scratch, at the very least I'd be glad we got somebody who isnt going to back down from or get steamrolled by a free rusher, he's big enough to do SOMETHING even if he has no idea how to block correctly haha.

But he does have a lot of work to do there. I am indeed justifying his shortcomings because of his ballcarrier talent.

This is insane. Elliot is already one of the better blocking RBs in the NFL.

I wouldn't go that far. He was more polished on passing downs than almost any college RB i'll give you that.
