    The rivalry is back on

I'd rather have a pass rusher, but Conley at 15 to IND would be my guess if Conley's still there and IND doesn't trade out of that spot.

  3. What players do you want that the Eagles realistically would want or draft ?

I'm gonna be honestly surprised if Adams actually does go in the top 5. A lot of people are comparing him to Eric Berry but I don't see it.

Berry is bolder and more decisive, finds ways to take a lot more chances in the field for playmaking than Adams does. They're both hard hitters but Berry is also the better athlete. I like that Adams knows his limits - his game is a bit more patient - but I'm trying to hit the lottery with turnovers if I draft a safety that high. Turnovers are what can make a safety a true game changer.

I just don't see enough to make Adams that RARE top 5 SS. I think the Panthers are somewhat likely to end up with him.

Foster/Davis/Ross/McCaffrey/Howard are my Top 5. I'd put Kevin King in there too but only if the Eagles were able to trade down into the 20s with a team like KC (for Mahomes?). King at 14 is too rich, even for my purple & gold blood.

You noticed 4/5 picks are offense? The Eagles need defense but at the end of the day, they had the 12th best defense last year in terms of points against. There are so many good corners in this draft, they can afford to go offense in the 1st and then corner in the 2nd/3rd and still end up with good players. That is why I am not pulling the trigger on Conley at 14.

Also, I named the two WRs but not Mike Williams---that is because his biggest comp is Alshon Jeffrey, we already have that. I think two of those are redundant which is why I pass on Williams although I really like him.

I like offense in the 1st round and then defense in the next two, perhaps both corners like Chidobe Awuzie/Adoree Jackson in the 2nd and guys like Ahkello Witherspoon/Damonte Kazee in the 3rd. Plenty of intriguing guys there. Maybe take a flier on Sidney Jones in the 2nd or 3rd if the Eagles team doctors find his prognosis as good as they are saying it is here at UWMC in Seattle.

I wish Giants could get adams but no way in hell that happens haha

I'm definitely at the point where I'm inclined to agree that the Eagles' first round pick should focus on the offense since Jeffery and Smith are essentially on one-year deals, Mathews is in a contract year, Sproles is retiring, and Mathews is probably out of here before/after the season.

If Jeffery pans out and can sign a team-friendly deal with us, I'd love to take Ross and implement him into our offense more and eventually let Smith go

Exactly...the only offensive weapon they have under contract beyond this year is Zach Ertz and I guess Wendell Smallwood (who I don't really care about). That's a problem.

If Jeffrey comes in and plays like he should and Torrey does, well then its not so bad but what if they don't? Scary.

If they traded down for njoku I feel like that would be a nice match but I doubt it

Yep, it really is scary to think about. Plus, with Jeffery, he may do well and end up testing the free market next year if we can't offer what he's asking for.

And as great as McCaffrey may seem to many, I feel like I'm leaning more toward WR in Ross or Davis at this point given how deep RB also is in this draft.

Well if Jeffrey plays well, he will just get tagged next year if they don't come to a long term deal but I'm not too concerned about that. If he does what he's capable of in this offense, they'll take care of him and pay him. My concern is if he doesn't perform well for whatever reason or if he gets hurt or pops for PEDs again----he won't be back in 2018. Jordan Matthews is going to get overpaid next year so he won't be back and then that leaves you with an almost 30 year old Torrey Smith as your #1 potentially. No. Thank. You.

Go get one of the Top 3 WRs in the 1st (I want Davis or Ross) and have a legit guy cheap for the next four years while you figure out the rest of the offense long term.

Forgot that we could tag Jeffery. You're absolutely right though about the injury/PED concerns, which I forgot to mention. I'm really trying to stay optimistic here about Jeffery. We could lose Smith and Matthews and I'll be okay with that, especially if we drafted Ross/Davis. Having one of those guys alongside Jeffery would be great moving forward. Then we could try focusing on the running game in future drafts if a guy we take in one of the middle rounds doesn't pan out.

Curious to see what the Lions do. There's a need pretty much everywhere at defense

To give a heads up on all this: Night of April 8, Cardale Jones and Gareon Conley were out together at Barley and Cardale stayed at the Westin mentioned in that article. Conley may have as well.

That Gareon Conley's name is in the mix of speculation.

Like @Night Channels said, Obi Melifonwu and Patrick Mahomes were visiting that weekend, so that puts both of them in Cleveland at the time. The article DID mention that it was an expected first round player, which MAY eliminate Melifonwu, but who knows. Gareon Conley is already in Ohio, along with other prospects. The fact that he and Cardale were out that same night and Cardale stayed in that hotel gives the idea that, if Conley were to be "bringing someone home", it'd likely be to that hotel, since Conley hasn't had a payday and isn't going to be staying with his parents. The attorney of the player mentioned is based in Cleveland, which, given that it's 4 weeks later, could add speculation that the player who committed the rape is still in Ohio.

I'm not saying it's Conley, but if I had to guess to save my life, it'd be Conley.

Not that weekend, a lot were said to be there that weekend once the news broke but it was jumping the gun. Mixon, Cook, Hooker, McKinley, and others were actually on the weekend before. Some of the other names mentioned were able to be found visiting other teams that weekend. So basically what it leaves is: Mahomes, Melifonwu, and players who would already be somewhat near the area and wouldn't have to be visiting the Browns to be there.
