I assume he's talking about manually syncing stuff to his phone, but I dunno, still don't see what's wrong with downloading from the cloud..

  2. Yeah, I find the iCloud syncing super easy to keep track what's in the cloud and what's on my phone.

Same. It's way better than manual syncing

As far as I can tell if a song is in your computer and not Apple Music that doesn't work. Like, if June's doesn't have the song. Also, if that does work then what is the point if paying for iTunes Match?

I don't necessarily want every song from my computer to appear on my phone. I loved rdio's "only show downloaded Music" option. I hate that it's a separate menu in Apple Music. Don't get me wrong, I love Apple Music, these things are just preference I guess.

Yeah, but then all you have to do is add it to your library and then it's in the cloud. I don't see any point in paying for iTunes Match if you're using Apple Music - AM should do everything Match does.

So my comp broke. Am I screwed in terms of recovering my music on another comp? I assumed everything I bought on Apple can transfer over, but the rest no...

Yeah, I don't have iTunes Match, I've just always wondered why both exist. Especially because you can turn iCloud Music Library on even if you don't subscribe to Apple Music (I think) which makes it seem like paying for iTunes Match makes no sense. Anyway, maybe my issues with Apple Music are hard to describe or unique to me but none of them are deal breakers, I still really like it.

I'm not sure about using iCloud Music Library without AM since I've always had AM, but I imagine it does the same thing as iTunes Match but without the ability to stream/download DRM-free iTunes versions of your music.

    ???

  10. Depends what broke, what you still have access too, and if you have any backups.

  11. You can definitely download anything you've added to iCloud Music Library. I do it all the time with advances.

The screen. So I got my HD out and I'm installing iTunes on a diffent computer now. Question is do you think if I transferred my old HD over to this comp could it also use my programs? Like my pealzip software? Or would I have to re download that?

  13. If the HD is fine, you can definitely get your music back. Most program you can still use if they're not App Store apps (in which case, just download them from there again), the others you should be able to grab um and put them in the the Applications folder and they'll work.

Ok cool. Do you recommend any cheap hard drive adapter or anything else that would sync my old HD to the comp I'm using now?

  15. It's just the screen that's broken? Can you attach an external monitor to it and transfer over the network?

So it makes more sense for me to use the current comp, and transfer my HD info

I think you'd just be able to hook it up to an external monitor, back it up using Time Machine to an external HD, and just put it on the new computer? Everything should be there.
Spilled an ICEE on my Macbook Pro last year. Worst thing ever because nothing was backed up. Thankfully the one thing that ended up surviving was the HD, so I was able to run that externally, back it up through Time Machine, and restore my new laptop with that instead.
    Good luck!

Awesome ok thanks for the feedback
    I appreciate it

  21. Should be able to migration assistant as well from one to another without needing an external drive. It'll take a while but should work.

Anyone else having a problem with Apple Music not adding albums to your library after you hit add? I've hit it on the Have Mercy album 3 times but it won't show up in my library.
