We won't get a top 3 pick or a franchise QB. We went 9-7 with 2 of the worst QBs in the league, and our last loss was while resting 2 of our best players for the playoffs. This 9-7 was going against the toughest division in the league that season (AFC West) and a division that sent 2 playoff teams in the NFC (NFC North). We probably won't replicate 9-7 with Savage, but we won't go <4 wins.

 

I do still think we're picking a first round QB because it's entirely possible that Rick Smith is saying that as a smokescreen, and if it were any other GM I'd say it's more likely than not. But it's Rick Smith so it's still very well in the realm of possibility.

 

Can the Texans and Lions just combine teams? They'd be so good

Okay I do claim it to be one of Morgan Freeman's better performances/roles. He was the bad guy in that movie and that's awesome.

Yes and no. Here is where I do split semantics - music doesn't have to be hard to play to sound good. BUT better musicians are able to get more out of simple compositions and make simpler music sound better than an amateur would.

You can be playing 3 chords. A kid who just picked up guitar has no ebb and flow, awkward strumming patterns, only plays loud and aggressive, doesn't know how to create specific guitar tones yet, probably struggles to sing and play, and if he isn't an experienced singer or songwriter those things come into play too. A player who is very experienced, on the other hand, can spice up those 3 chords with HOW he/she plays them and has a lot of control over how the message on top is projected.

So complex music isn't automatically better. But better musicians usually have more tools at their disposal to make better sounding music, regardless whether that's simple or complex in the end.

Don't fool yourself into thinking "practice makes perfect" doesn't apply to music! Song wring can always improve along with skill. Becoming a better musician only benefits your ability to translate your ideas from your head to people's ears.
