A much better approach would've been to quietly roll this out and have fans spread the words themselves. I would've flipped if i went to a movie tonight and I saw that before it started.

rewatched the clip. gonna go out on a limb and say we'll just be getting the new video/single next friday with a probable album announcement as well.

confused as to how whoever's handling the marketing for this cycle thought this was gonna play out, though. they've been killing it in that department ever since the reunion which makes this whole thing even more bewildering

Wow, they handled that tease so stupidly.

They could've sidestepped a whole lotta this if they had just gone a more suggestible route, like...

"Hey Chicago... If you're thinking of going to the movies today... maybe you should keep your eyes peeled in the previews... #WinkWink #NudgeNudge"

Instead, they choose to waste everybody's time.

 

Wouldn't the exact same people have gone to the movies for that went for what they actually did? Still showing a no music teaser with a date either way.

 

Adding to my last post, I just realized Jason called the band "menaces" on Twitter yesterday. Heh...
