Well, and while Randy isnt a part-timer currently, he too doesnt really do much with the belt. In a world where neither is likely dropping it anytime soon, its gonna make for some weird PPVs.

Part timers don't need belts. They generate enough attention as is. And Lesnar should be forced to show up every week, no doubt about it. He really has Vince by the balls.

You are right (ugh) but that isn't going to change any time soon. In any other promotion, belts are handed out on merit (sorta) where WWE is about draws. As long as people are putting butts in seats, they'll be top guys. None of us want Randy or Brock to hold the bests, but it is what is best for business right now. They don't have to worry about them getting hurt and know they will bank of PPV's/push merch.

Anyway. Going back to what we believed as kids:

When Jericho first came to the E with the "Y2J" stuff I was eleven. I was confused and asked my mom what the difference was between Y2K and Y2J and why one was sooner than the other (since the promos had a countdown clock). My mom just sighed and said wrestling was stupid and she didn't know why she let me watch.

She also didn't believe me when I told her that Owen Heart died during the PPV I was watching with my cousins. Said I was dumb for believing what was "obviously" fake. She was pretty surprised when it was on the news, although still thought for a bit that the news station was believing a fake story too.
