I'm confused, did the DNC/DCC/Dems need to support Ossoff more, or is he neo-liberal and therefore not worthy of support? Feel like both of those being true is mind melding.

 

God no one but the GOP is ever going to win again the way the left eats itself alive.

 

It's easier to be a neoliberal in a rich, republican district IMO. To some extent I think people are wary that a 29yr old will really believe half the dumb shit he says and is just trying hard to win over centrists and moderate republicans. There is no one on the other side to be excited about and he's established rn.

 

Especially knowing what the backend of that looked like, and how long pages took to load, and how often it flat out crashed ... but hell, it didn't even support retina screens!

 

A lot of people think Mello will win though, apparently it's really hard to find anyone really left there because of how conservative it is or something

I think you're confusing two stories here. In Kansas, there was the idea that the candidate lacked funding. In this case, I'm fairly certain that the DNC/DCCC funded Ossoff pretty heavily, but that his actual policies are repellent. Either way, the broader point of that post was the response to Deray, which I found absolutely hilarious.

Sometimes someone will criticize me over something, and I'll be like "hmm, that kinda makes sense, I could see that argument" and I'll be like "who said this?" ... and I'll be like "oh, looks like a totally rational human being, I need to think about this more" ... and then there's other times where it's just "ooooooooohhhhhhhh, yeah I can never think about this again."

Does anyone want to do a Chorus reading group on Shattered? It seems like a pretty deep dive into the campaign and admittedly, I am a sucker for that sort of thing despite my feelings about electoral politics in this country.

 

I actually think that was one of the ways the republicans campaigned against him, because something like ninety percent of his funding was coming from out of state donations. Ha.
