race and religion are not the same and every time any of you say that you give credit to ignoring people like me. and to erasure. and to oversimplifying all of this.

people associating both Christianity and Islam with race is the bane of my existence and I've explained why so many times. I'm hardly the only MENA person, of any religion or lack thereof, who has said this. there are many progressive Muslims, esp minority ones, who have called out Western leftists for the same things I constantly do.

when people think this, they forget where Christianity comes from, associate it with the West, and enjoy ignoring actual Christian persecution while you all argue about Starbucks cups and "happy holidays". there are all kinds of Christians and Muslims all over the world. centering everything on America doesn't help. it solves nothing.

Muslims who say talking about Christian persecution is bad hate me and contribute to our oppression

if they're apologists for Sharia, they're also terrible and are ok with oppressing people

what right wingers say is racist, and is islamophobic, not what i or other mena + south asian leftists, religious and atheist, say. again, we fully recognize western dynamics. but we ask you to understand dynamics elsewhere.

why do you think I promote Muslims like Mona, Hasan, Bassem, etc etc, because they recognize both bigotry towards Muslims without calling everything on Earth islamophobia, and they're fine with educating people about minorities and not playing victim while doing so. and they tell people like yourselves to shut up because you think you're being helpful when you're not.

I'm not giving leeway to problematic people, regardless of their religion. I have had both muslims who are awful towards minorities AND right wing Assyrians block me on Twitter. I get it from all sides. you wouldn't understand this. stop trying to brainwash people with unnecessary political correctness about this issue. it's not hysteria. you don't understand the problems at all.
