This one has been in circulation for years, but found it in a list of shows I never put on the Archive so...yeah, enjoy. The show from the night before also available in the Archive in soundboard quality.

I agree. While I do love Winter Forever, Reverie Lagoon blew me away. I also never really felt the Brand New likeness in that record, but many do. (tbh I think people who don't play guitar think power chords are all the same, and if a band plays one in succession with other power chords they automatically are like whatever band they want to link them to.)

 

I hear the Brand New influence more on Ghost and it seemingly just stuck to them I think. Yeah power chord usage seems to be an easy way to lump bands together which idk makes no sense but I don't think that necessarily happens as much anymore

 

Also curious. Finally released that EP several years ago and straight vanished.

 

It's tough to say, man. The band that gives you those feels could be a band that sounds like something Brand New has done, or it could end up being something completely distant. But you'll find em, whatever they sound like

 

Feeling defeated at the lack of LP5 news this past 4/18, I found myself paying too much for a sealed copy of Sowing Season with oloC acoC. I hate myself sometimes hahaha

For YFw vibes, I'd recommend There's Nothing Wrong with Love by Built to Spill. You'll definitely recognize "Distopian Dream Girl." Sorry. by Patron Saints of Bridge Burners gives me a pretty solid TDAG vibe. Indian Summer had to've been a huge inspiration on Daisy.

 

If you go back like 20 pages or so you'll find 4-5 pages of just riyl recs.
