Love seeing love for "When it Rains". Still one of my favourite songs of theirs.

I remember that Makeshift Shelters LP gave me some AWKIF era Paramore vibes too, with Jimmy Eat World and Get Up Kids influences as well.

I don't think it's lazy. I'm not even a fan of theirs but I can't believe some people are seriously saying this sounds nothing like The 1975. Not that they invented that style or sound obviously but if you make an "80s" sounding song with that beat and little twangy guitars it's going to sound like them because all their songs sound like that.

This song is alright. I wasn't into Now before the S/T dropped, but that song grew one me so maybe this one will too. Definitely has me interested in the album.

I love The 1975 and I'd say this song doesn't sound like that band at all and not all of The 1975's sound the way you describe in the least bit.

So I'm not the biggest Paramore fan, and I think their pre-self titled albums are just ok, but man, they have no business writing a song as good as Daydreaming. But the other kinda funky songs from s/t are my favorites, so more songs like Grow Up is exciting.

Yeah I was exaggerating about ALL 1975 songs sounding the same but still. It doesn't sound like them "at all"? I'm not using it as a reason to dislike it but come on. The discoey drum beat in the chorus and whatever that effect is on the guitars doesn't remind you of them at all? Fair enough if you disagree (I do think the melodic style is a little different and 1975 songs have way better melodies and find this one pretty boring) but I still don't think it's a wild comparison and it's the first thing I thought of when I clicked play without reading anyone else's comments.

Haha yea the paramore break up story definitely feels like a constant. Hey I'm sure it's true though (or a really clever marketing trick)

Kinda rolled my eyes yesterday when i read that interview where she talked about 'almost breaking up again' or whatever.

    Song is fire though!

Solid interview, Zane did great. Did I misunderstand, or did he say something about a documentary? Has Paramore announced a making of doc?

That is a terrific interview. There are bands that split who haven't gone through half the drama this band has gone through and I have more admiration for Paramore now than I ever have. The fact that they're all this unified even as they continue struggling shows what a good place they're in. I think they're gonna be fine.
