This is a hilarious quote from Chad Gilbert interview before Skiba was asked to be in Blink....." I don’t know whether you’ve seen Blink live but Tom sometimes sounds like shit live! He writes great songs but who knows, maybe the new singer will sing better live and people will be like, “Damn! He actually sounds better than Tom!”

I was literally going to tweet at Chad yesterday and tell him he should do one of those because I always enjoy reading them so weird haha

Weird list for sure. Definitely would have expected him to love NWAF and I knew he loved Resurrection but yeah haha

Resurrection isn't bad it just suffers from diversity... every song feels like it blends together.. I think it would have worked much better as a 10 or 11 track record

Selfless and Ready & Willing are top tier NFG songs imo

  6. I mean, it's not like we could expect him to put his most recent record anywhere else haha. How many times have you heard an artist say "the new stuff is some of our best yet!"

I was thinking we'd get a pressing of Catalyst and Coming Home this year. Still hope that comes true and a repress of NGCS and S/T would be nice even though I have S/T

So, I'm pretty sure the lyrics to The Sound of Two Voices are my favorite lyrics the band has ever written.

  11. I went back and listened to Catalyst and NGCS for the first time in a long time and they're much better than I remember.

I assume you mean lack of diversity, the alternative is a bit weird. Anyway, you're correct on the latter point, but then it probably would have felt like a bit of a rehash given Radiosurgery was also deliberately meant to be a short, punchy record.

Resurrection is awful awful awful. Jason said earlier that Steve had little influence but great lyrics aren't just about what the song is saying, it's also a subtle way to create catchy vocal harmonies and melodies. Sorry, but Steve was chief lyricist which means organically he has a lot of influence on my enjoyment of NFG.

Anyway, this is a solid record. And I think they bounced back somewhat (without Steve). My ranking:

    1. Sticks and Stones (99% of us all agree with this right?)
    2. Coming Home (best pop-punk "Fall/Wintertime" record)
    3. Not Without a Fight (RWWLO is their best opener ever, Truckstop Blues is great, nice production from Hoppus)
    4. Catalyst
    5. Self-titled
    6. Radiosurgery (some clunkers but Ready Aim Fire and Summer Fling are sooooo good)
    7. Makes Me Sick (has potential to move up, need to keep listening)
    8. NGCS (nostalgically I love it but musicwise doesn't hold up)
    9. Resurrection

  17. Guess I'm in a minority of Resurrection lovers. That album BANGS. I love how it's a little more heavy than most.

    1. S/T
    2. Resurrection

    4. Radiosurgery
    5. Catalyst

While my gf was at rehearsal tonight, I sat around, watched the NBA playoffs, and figured out how to play half of 'Makes Me Sick' on guitar. It's a lot of fun, but it's a lot of the same chords, ha.

'Barbed Wire' is really fun and the bridge/prechorus to 'Party On Apocalpyse' is SUPER fun to play. I'll probably figure out the rest this week. I love this album.

  19. Yeah that bridge riff for Party On is awesome haha. I find myself singing along to that instead of the vocal melody a lot hahah

I haven't listened to the leak because I'm just too lazy to download it.

This is why streaming has curbed leaks.

(also totally thought this was coming out tomorrow so I'll probably end up downloading it sometime this weekend)

That's how I initially felt but since it was still two weeks out and reading everyones thoughts I couldn't wait that long haha I'm trying to only listen to it once or twice before the release though

  22. I love the little "do-do's" under the second go-round of the solo in Say It
