I'll see you again in 25 years Prestigious

Doesn't sound great but honestly sounds better than their singles off the past 2 in my opinion

Man, unfortunatley the urgency and aggressiveness in his voice has diminished since the earlier stuff. Still love Tim though. Ready for Chris Chasse or Todd Mahoney to come back in the band too. Zach hasn't add much at all since joining as far as writing goes. Fun guy to watch perform live though.

Man I don't even want this band to get aggressive again I just want them to stop being so damn boring

It just really sounds like "sing generic late era Rise Against song" honestly, but I'll wait for the whole song at least

That clip bored me. Didn't think that was even possible for a snippet.

I saw these guys loading all their gear today into The Music Garage in Chicago. They're definitely gearing up for some shows.

Do or do not, there is no try.

Sounds like what I've come to expect from the band, which I'm perfectly fine with. (Although I can see why some would find it boring/want a change up)

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Every new album of theirs I give a chance, and every time I regret it. They haven't put out a good album since Sufferer & the Witness and it bums me out. They used to be so good.

Sounds good to me. Of course I miss the Sufferer and RPM days, but I really don't think they've released a bad album. I'm always up for new Rise Against.

I thought everyone agreed that Endgame was their worst and The Black Market was a good attempt at going in the right direction.

  13. oh ok I listened to the snippet, sounds like they're still stuck in autopilot mode. boring boring boring

The snippet does sound very samesy but I'm not going to bash it until I hear the full song. High hopes for politically charged RA.

I hope theres more screaming in this album. Mainly in the bridges.

Hit the nail on the head there.

I thought his voice sounded very tired on The Black Market but I still enjoyed it though. How does he sound live these days, it's been a few years since I've seen them? I'd imagine the screaming heavy songs aren't in the set lists any more?

Looking forward to the song/album! The snippet was only small so I'll withheld judgement.

The last few times I saw them he actually sounded winded. I can hear it in his voice in the last two releases too. Idk if it's a new way of singing for him or not. I also remember seeing him during the end of the Sufferer era and he was very nasaly. It was strange. Not sure if he was sick or not. He still has a good voice, just not the Tim I loved during RPM/Siren Song eras. He can still scream if he wants to.

And Yeah, ill always support what these guys stand for. Definitely excited to hear some new stuff even though it'll probably sound like everything since Appeal To Readon haha.

It seems to me (not claiming to be an expert) that screaming regularly will do one of two things to your vocal cords:

    1) Your singing voice deepens and strengthens, but you can't scream any more. Ben from Billy Talent is a very good example of this if you listen to him trying to do BT 1 and 2-era songs live, or Sean Smith from the Blackout, in the unlikely event anyone remembers them.

    2) You can keep pushing yourself to scream, but your singing voice gets weaker. A good example of this would be Chester from Linkin Park and, sadly, Tim. He can still scream on demand but his voice has been going downhill since Appeal just with general wear and tear.

I think State of the Union hasn't been a staple anymore for the last few years, if that says anything.

I'll always hold dear the memory of seeing them headline right after Appeal to Reason came out and they opened with Drones (best show opener they will ever do) and went right into Give It All and then into State of the Union. That could have been the whole set and I'd have left happy.

Was that the tour that had Alkaline Trio, Gaslight Anthem, & Thrice as support?

    On now. It's pretty good.

I don't know if I could listen to a full Rise Against album in 2017, but a song or two I enjoy a lot on this would be nice.

I feel like their lyrics border on self-parody at this point.

Always nice to hear new Rise Against.

Song is very formulaic, but it's pretty stripped down which is nice. Weak chorus and bridge though. Will have to listen more.
