I'm sure it's only because it's a reunion. Like, if Jawbreaker were still consistently a band and were at their current size, they wouldn't headline

 

Oh it definitely is. I just think even with this reunion, the headlining spot seems a little too big still. This isn't like a Misfits with Danzig reunion

 

If you go off album sales, in the US Paramore has one gold and three platinum albums (out of four tries), QOTSA have one gold album (out of six tries). And you could argue Paramore did that despite illegal music becoming the main thing during their hey-day.

 

it's because it's not Brazil the only place Paramore truly has power, come to Brazil Paramore

 

Maybe I'm biased because I like QOTSA and Paramore bores me to tears but in the festival circuit, QOTSA is the bigger band.

 

You're right, but it seems like if people wanted to listen to QOTSA they would on apps like Spotify, etc. Paramore has over double the listeners...seems like it would at least be closer.

 

Anyway not crazy about that lineup, will probably only go if Laura wants to (she will) and we can afford it

 

I think it's just arbitrary, my favorite is for Glastonbury this year Shaggy was billed higher than Halsey lol

I'm going to try just for Sunday. Lineup is okay, but I've seen most the bands already in non-festival settings

 

the brit festivals always throw me because there's always a few artists near the top that make me like "who tf are these people and how are they billed higher than (insert huge US act)"

 

Festivals are just a drag now, like yeah it'd be cool to see some bands so why don't they play in an area that DOESNT require us all to get hotels and airfare

But I get festivals, they're just not for me anymore

 

Yeah I feel you plus I never wanna see enough bands to justify it.

 

And when you do wanna see enough bands all their times overlap anyway and you miss half of em

 

Bonnaroo this year has the worst line-up I've ever seen it have since moving to where I could feasibly attend if I wanted to.

 

festivals have never been for me, I get dehydrated easily and I get anxious in crowds, plus I feel like with outdoor shows/festivals sometimes people are there for the experience versus the actual music and I don't know how to not sound like an asshole but they're not real fans

 

Only festival I've ever enjoyed as a whole experience out of the ones I've gone to is Fun Fun Fun Fest which is now rebranded and dead because they took away all the great things about it

Seeing Kanye at Austin City Limits was amazing but the festival itself was mediocre

I feel like a lot of the people I know who are barely into music are the ones going to festivals now. It's become a trendy thing to check yourself in at Firefly or Coachella on social media even if you don't know anything about most of the bands/artists playing.

 

They're so exhausting. It's why I'm only considering doing the one day because I felt like I nearly died the one year I went to riot fest

 

Ian, you need to stay hydrated when taking large quantities of molly.

 

The one year they did Riot Fest in Dallas they only did one day and I was so thankful for that

 

I think I would love to experience Electric Daisy Carnival (I think that's the one in Vegas) or Tomorrowland (think that's the one in Atlanta), but I'd also have my Camelbak full of water, drink no alcohol, take no drugs, and generally be in the running for lamest person to ever attend an EDM festival. They just look absurd and worth seeing. Especially if I could maybe sneak in someone epic like Tiesto or Armin van Buuren.

 

I did have a blast at the Electric Forest. I'm not sure if the music was really good or if I was just really fucked up the whole time.
