I'm not so much sad about this Hawks team as I am mad at myself for thinking the oduya addition was going to make this defense look passable

    Just a friendly reminder

I'm just glad we're not getting blown out to be honest. Edmonton not winning the division was the worst thing that could've happened to th Flames. Anaheim will have their number until Perry and Getzlaf retire I'm pretty sure.

Yeah I mean they probably lose regardless, but Schaller getting a matching minor for getting punched in the face, followed by Bobby Ryan's no call, certainly does not help our cause.

Seems like our defensemen aged a decade this year. Seabs is slow. Keith has lost a step, but with the knee injuries you can't blame him. Oduya has been dreadful. Campbell also lost a step. We don't have the scoring depth to come back from when they skate circles around our D.

Also nice to see that Panarin has stopped playing hockey after hitting his bonus.

This is correct. Granted probably 30-40% of Hawks fans are Sox fans, but even 05 isn't that long ago for a team that previously went 87 years without a title

I really wonder given our cap sich and absolute lack of D prospects that Stan will look to trade Panarin for defensemen. Particularly right-handed shots. I really can't fathom a scenario now where he's here next year unless they hypnotize Seabrook into waiving his NMC.

I was thinking the same. Maybe offload one or two of the young forwards as well for some d prospects. Seabs waiving his NMC is a dream scenario. Let Vegas have him

  17. Canes would definitely be interested in Panarin.

What's the deal with Galchenyuck on the 4th line? If the Habs aren't happy with him I think it's almost guaranteed Francis will be calling.

Absolutely, though the Caps came out flying. Toronto definitely has a chance at winning this series, but it's not happening in 5, that's insane.

    Also:

CSN analyst Alan May says Barry Trotz needs to play Alex Ovechkin more

Comcast SportsNet analyst Alan May still believes that if the Capitals, who trail the Maple Leafs two games to one in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, win Game 4 on Wednesday in Toronto, Washington will come back to win the series. And if not?

“This would be the biggest failure in, maybe, NHL history,” May told The Sports Junkies on 106.7 The Fan on Tuesday. “This is absolutely horrible what’s going on right now.”

I honestly think that is a totally feasible possibility, especially given your guys' abundance of quality defensemen.

Sort of interested to see if Bruins are a dark horse candidate for Panarin, if we are able to offload some salary elsewhere. We have D prospects to get it done. If Bjork doesn't sign, I'd rather trade for him and Palat over Landeskog

I'm fantasizing about Panarin on the Leafs now. Let Bozak walk, give Nylander the #2C spot, and put Panarin with Matthews.
