  1. Ah no way! Haha I actually reeeeeeally dislike Vicious Love as well, so that's funny. Don't really hear the comparison but I'll keep it in mind on my next listen and see if I can catch the similarities.

Yeah. I can't stand vicious love. I think its such a bad song. Haha. I was so happy they ended up taking that out of the set list when I saw them last.

  3. The opener on Radiosurgery reminds me way too much of Green Day.

It's too mediocre to remind me of Green Day

I didn't like that song when I first heard it. Then I saw the music video and the song live. It grew on me over time. Video is very much Ramones.

  7. Gotta say that Ian crushed it on a lot of parts on this record. Verses of Party On and Short And Sweet are dope. Prechorus of Jokes is a fun lick, and pretty much the entirety of Two Voices kills as well. He always does a great job though, always knows when to sit in the back with root notes but is totally capable of driving the right parts of a song to elevate them. Wish more modern pop punk bands took notes on that.

I got to thinking...if NFG got another guitarist, who be a great fit with them? My first thought was....well, me, of course. But then I got to thinking more and thought Ryan Mendez could be an awesome fit. He's available.

I can't get over how inescapable Sticks and Stones is, so that will probably always be my favorite. But self-titled is a close second.

Can't wait any more for this. Ugh. I guess I need to find a leak? Idk...

after a discography run i found a few things out.

    1. sticks and stones absolutely bangs. every track on that record has a ton of meaning to me, and brings me right back to freshmen year of high school, yet there is a sense of maturity on that record that self titled doesn't have.

    2. Nothing Gold may actually be a better record than self titled. Every song on self titled feels like it could be a massive hit but lyrically the songs feel a bit immature to me, nothing gold is just a great youth break up record, and while it def sounds like it was written by high school kids, it sounds like its written by high school kids with enormous potential.

    3. Coming Home is my second favorite NFG record. I just love the sound on that one, songs are structurally very different from the rest of the discography.

    4. the three records after coming home are significantly lacking in diversity... i think radiosurgery is the best out of that group with resurrection being the worst. I like all of these records but to me they were just trying to repeat their sound in as many ways as possible.

    5. I really don't like the vocals on Catalyst.. Jordan has a very nasal tone on all of the records but on that one it is way more evident and stands out a lot more. Had trouble getting through it to be honest.

    6. Makes Me sick is their best record since coming home and is probably my third favorite in their discography. My NFG ranking is probably,

    1. sticks and stones
    2. coming home
    3. makes me sick
    4. self titled
    5. Nothing gold can stay
    6. Not without a fight
    7. radio surgery
    8. Resurrection
    9. Catalyst (unpopular opinion)

:scream: Catalyst is easily one of the band's best.

ha, i know its an unpopular opinion but I literally had trouble getting through it, I think it could possibly be I just can't get past the production. I know a lot of people love it and its one of their most popular records but its just not one I could fully enjoy.

I think musically, Catalyst is their most creative (besides Coming Home I guess). The guitars on that album are fantastic. I think the lyrics are a lot more mature as well compared to most of their other stuff.

    Things have changed.

Yeah, the vocals on Catalyst hurt my ears.
