Same here - I never have / never will have a desire to hear the entire album with Travis drumming; that's just me, personally though - great drummer, absolutely but Dude Ranch is perfect the way it is!

Untitled is spinning and I'm officially in yard work beast mode.

Don't get me wrong, Scott's drumming on dude ranch is great and gets the job done. I just think the drumming throughout the whole album would be a little bit more interesting and original if Travis took a shot at it. It's not like it's ever gonna happen anyway.

I'm sure the thought of that would make a lot of older Blink fans cringe haha.

Honestly (prepare to get your pitchforks out), the production of Dude Ranch/Cheshire makes them borderline unlistenable to me. It's not that I think the songs are bad because I love the older songs on The Mark Tom and Travis Show, but anything pre-Enema doesn't do anything for me. The crisp and wide production of Blink was crucial to my enjoyment of them.

I think there's a strong chance Feldy will bring that back on this new album, so yay!

  6. I'm still all about (most of) Dude Ranch. The production isn't as crisp which makes it sound a little dated sometimes, but I still listen to it often. I listen to Dude Ranch more than Enema of the State.

There's a few things on Dude Ranch I'd change, songs I'd take off, etc. but for the most part, I love that shit.

I also don't really love Dude Ranch, I only listen sometimes. Never even listened to Cheshire Cat, have zero desire to

  8. Aside from a small handful of songs, you're not really missing out.

Also, if we're being honest, Dude Ranch is just a LITTLE bit long. I mean, 15 songs is really long for a pop punk album. if they cut just maybe 3 songs, then it would be an even better album than it already is.

  10. Agreed. And take off those god awful sound effect interlude things...

This I definitely don't agree with. 45 minutes is just fine for a SOLID album.

haha, well I'm glad to know I'm not alone on their old stuff then!

It may sound bad, but I would fucking love it if this new album was 10-11 songs long.

Right off the bat, I think you can easily get rid of Boring and Degenerate. The former is just not a very good song, and the latter is basically just a joke song, so it's not necessary.

  14. Right. And if you took out the interlude things and faded out the end of I'm Sorry instead of ringing feedback/the toilet thing, the album would be like 40 minutes, which is the standard length of an album.

I agree. 10-11 song albums are usually the perfect length for me personally.

  17. Enema of the State is 12 songs, 35 minutes. I'd be fine with an album that length again. But the more the merrier, as long as everything is good! haha

I also hate the ringing feedback at the end of "I'm Sorry". It's actually one of my favorite blink songs, but that ending is hard to sit through and it goes on way too long. The toilet thing at the end is pretty funny to me though, so there's that.

Actually, this new blink album is the one exception for me. I'd be ok with them releasing all 50 songs or however many they actually recorded hahaha. The more blink the better. As long as it's good!

  20. I will not accept any criticism of Dude Ranch, that album is flawless!

I know what you guys are saying but there's something way more intimate and interesting about shorter albums to me. The idea of Blink being like, "Here are 10 songs" after they recorded so many, would be really intriguing (and bad fucking ass).

The truth hurts! hahaha jk. It's still my 2nd favorite blink album.

I'm with you, but for me they were able to accomplish that with the self titled as well. So something in the 13-14 range can still work imo. Just needs to be hit out of the park

    I am a haunted house. I'm superstitious.

Have you already mentioned that Scott recorded Dude Ranch with broken ankles or something like that? True story.

I get the criticism on that album though. I skip a lot of songs on it and overall I tend to think that live versions on TMTTS with Travis on the drums sound way better. Still a classic and I love the album, but it's (very) far from being blink's best work in my opinion.

Honestly, I think it's the lyrics that give people the best argument that Dude Ranch is some of blink's best work. Aside from the few joke songs, that album has some REALLY good lyrics. Probably their best lyrics on an album alongside Untitled.
