Movie is fantastic. Show is good, but doesn't hit the highs the movie does.

Echoing everyone here, WHAS is easily one of my favorite comedies. Show is excellent too, can't wait for the sequel series.

I adore both the WHAS film and series. The film is a formative one for me in terms of my sense of humor and getting me into the crew from The State. The show was just a wall-to-wall riot and a completely justified success that only enhances the film on subsequent viewings. David Wain and Michael Showalter just knocked both out of the park. Can't wait for the next series.

I just watched the movie for the first time and wasn't too into it and I feel bad

  8. Fun fact: I used to be a HUGE Armor For Sleep fan back in the day, and I remember watching their DVD and there's a part where they're asking each of the members what their favorite movies are. It kept cutting back to the bass player and he couldn't ever think of an answer, which was funny. Later on, I saw them on tour when Say Anything was opening for them. After the show, I asked him if he ever thought of what his favorite movie was and he said, "Wet Hot American Summer!" and so since I was such a fanboy, I went to Blockbuster the next day and rented it, and immediately fell in love with that movie! I've been showing it to new people that come into my life ever since!

I'm not a big laugher when I'm by myself, so maybe I should try watching it with a group. I liked They Came Together and Role Models much more. WHAS got a few chuckles out of me, but had I not known it had such a following I never would have guessed

  11. I wasn't into Role Models, but They Came Together was pretty funny. Mostly just that one scene that repeats forever. That's all I really remember about that one.

Wet Hot American Summer and Stella are the best things that came out of that crew.

  12. I don't think I understand this different level of laughing depending on the setting thing that's come up in here a bit lately.

I think WHAS gets better on rewatches but I could also watch that movie thousands of times and never get tired of it.

Yeah, laughter is pretty much a social thing to me. I hear my roommate killing himself laughing alone in his room watching The Big Bang Theory and I'm jealous of his innate happiness

Most sitcoms I watch are by myself and I rarely get an audible laugh but I still find enjoyment in them which is why I still watch

Did you at least laugh when Andy was taking those kids in the van to a "super secret pizza party" and threw them into a ditch from the moving vehicle?

Fun fact: I saw that part while channel surfing on USA and immediately went to Sam Goody and bought the over priced DVD and has been a favorite ever since.

I will never forget the first time I watched WHAS. My sides feel like they're cramping from just thinking about it.
