I thought that comment was funny because they named songs I didn't like as their favourites, and songs I really liked as their least :crylaugh:

Damn John sounds really good on these acoustic songs too

I don't know why, but the words "I never knew, how much I was getting into" really resonate with me, the melody too. Super simple lyrics but I fuckin' smile and sing that part every time

This is actually a record where I don't mind listening to the interludes cause it flows so well.

  8. Yeah, Lovely is short and really just serves as an extended intro BB&DV. My first listen through I actually didn't know it was happening haha. I just remembered thinking BB&DV was supposed to be track 4 and got a little confused. And Lonely is pretty much a full fleshed out song in itself. Only one I'm not huge on is Little, but only because of the spoken word part... not really huge on that part or the other part that it's in in the following song. Spoken word is hard to do right though so I can't blame them for trying it out at least.

I've known these guys since the beginning, so I feel if you haven't been through the whole process with them you might under appreciate songs like My Hair and Another Night On Mars...

    Things have changed.

Black Butterflies is great on its own, but with the lead-in from "Lovely" it turns next-level. The interlude really propels it.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Wasn't the album originally announced as titled "Lovely, Little, Lonely"? Realized that it seems they dropped the commas now.

Saw them in SF last night, this band is in their prime and I don't see them stopping for years. You never know with bands but this is the band we could see put out two to three more albums and people are still going to show up.

Bad Behavior acoustic is just unbelievable.....I just can't get over it.

"Lonely" reminds me so much of Acceptance's "Glory/Us" during the first 30 seconds

Is there not an album thread for this?

    Really like black butterflies.

This may be a bit too poppy for my taste but this record is really done and shows an excellent display of musicianship and creativity

  17. There's no album thread for this. I'm def in the minority on the site that prefers it that way haha, I have never understood why all conversation about an artist can't be confined to a single thread

Seriously loving the new album. The title tracks are great intro's too. Hopefully they hit up NC soon, been way too long since I've caught their show.

  20. (I think this is their best album by a long shot.)

I feel like it's the most cohesive for sure. I don't know if this album has the best songs they've ever written though. I feel like those were on Pioneer and American Candy.

  22. I didn't really like either of those albums that much. Heh. I think American Candy has some good songs on it, but the highs don't outweigh the lows ... and it's not as consistent. I've never liked Pioneer.

I'm surprised you're not a fan of Pioneer, I feel like that album leans the most towards the 3EB sound. I love American Candy for how they fully went with the pop sound on it. Still taking time to absorb LLL, still feel like it ends way to quick. Truly is only 9 songs...

This sounds like the album they should've/been wanting to make since pioneer.

Their best album is either this or Forever Halloween. I also really like Black &a White, but not into Pioneer.

It's also weird that, while I usually dig anything that supposedly has Third Eye Blind influences, I don't like 3EB at all.
