@Vivatoto have you read TWD yet?

 

Has anyone here read BLACK? I have the first few issues in my comixology Wishlist, but beyond the initial hype I haven't heard much about the actual quality of the book?

The premise sounds awesome and incredibly poignant for our times.

 

I picked up the first issue of Black when it came out and liked it for what it was, but it had the common first issue struggle of setting things up. I'm definitely excited to read the whole thing (or first arc, if it's an ongoing; I honestly can't remember) eventually, though. I love the premise.

The covers alone are amazing. Especially issue #4.

 

I backed Black and get the pdfs whenever they release, but I've been waiting for it to be finished so I can read it as one book when my trade comes in. I think that'll be around July or so.

 

Latest Saga trade fucked me up good.

 

Yeah, crazy how it was one of the most brutal issues recently but had maybe 1/10th of the zombies. The mounting dread between Rick's conversation with Sherry was ridiculous, even if it ended in the obvious way. They're doing a good job with their cliffhangers and making the wait between issues unbearable, ha.

I hadn't thought about how the Saviors would react to Negan still being alive which is an interesting wrinkle.

 

man Robert and Charlie killed those last few pages. Andrea standing in the doorway/seeing her and Rick both in a high state of distress about broke me. I really don't think I can handle where this is going haha

 

Yeah it was a tough one.

 

I still wonder if there's going to be someway around the inevitable but I can't see it. For like 5 seconds I thought this issue was going to open with Eugene being like, "Oh shit, I got scared and I bit you, I'm sorry, nervous habit that I haven't brought up yet lol

 

Snyder was talking a little bit more about Metal

I have no idea how to post twitter stuff but he said it's a DC wide event, next promo is Wonder Woman than Superman. He also specifically mentions the batfamily, Green Arrow, Teen Titans, and Mera.

Read Batman: Hush last night and loved it, Jim Lee's art was fantastic. Noticed a few other books by Jeph Loeb that I've been interested in for a while all have art by Tim Sale so I checked some of his art out on Google and I really don't like it. Pretty disappointing considering how interested I was in some of those books, mainly The Long Halloween and Spider-Man Blue. Not nearly as interested in them now.

 

WHAT. Come on.



Tim Sale is one of my favorite artists. His Spider-Man is the best, and I also really dig the rest of his Marvel color series and all his Superman work (For All Seasons, Kryptonite). He also draws a fantastic Selina Kyle; the covers to Catwoman: When In Rome are absolutely gorgeous, though the actual story isn't the best.

 

His stuff just looks ugly to me. That's one of the more decent things I've seen from him but still look at that hand. His Batman stuff is definitely the most ugly though.

 

Not a huge fan of his stuff either.

Tim Sale is amazing.

 

Duuuude The Long Halloween is fucking great. The art is absolutely fine. Dark Victory is also great. I know @Jason Tate will vouch for me here as well. Read it!

 

I still plan on reading it at some point but idk man this art is pretty ghastly to me.





Like seriously some of the worst I've seen in a comic book. I'll probably come back to it when I don't have Jim Lee's art fresh on my mind, ha. Maybe it won't seem so bad then.

 

Also got vol 1 of Paper Girls as an early birthday present and found it very fun.

 

We need a dislike button, fast!!!

 

I started it hated the art but the writing was so good I quickly got past it.

 

hopefully that'll happen to me.
