Just letting you know that when I got to work this morning I immediately started Plans Within Plans on Spotify.

 

Awesome! I think I need to do the same; I haven't listened to that one all the way through in a good year, or so.

 

I hate justin timberlake and that he's held on some pop pedestal with his basicness. I always wondered if it was my dislike of him as a person that colored my perception of his music but I had a big pop playlist on shuffle recently and every time a song came on that I didn't like and wanted to skip it turned out to be by him. I've heard one song of his that I like but I don't remember which.

Right there with ya, except I can't stand his voice, especially that weird falsetto thing he does. Sounds downright creepy.

 

His falsetto is whiny and annoying tbh

And not music related but I think he's a huge asshole and I hate that he's revered as this hilarious cool guy when he's shown himself to be an ass and rarely gets called on it

 

he threw Janet Jackson under the bus so quickly

 

Clarity is the most overrated Jimmy Eat World record, and I'd listen to Chase This Light or Damage over Clarity any day.

 

He fetishizes Janet and other black women but won't have their backs. Shows what kind of person he is imo

 

I think CHVRCHES is incredibly bland and boring.

 

It's not an awful thing if you separate music/buying merch/seeing a band from the artist themselves (ie. TSSF situation) and you're not 'condoning' any behavior if you don't boycott the band/label

 

I don't like any Weezer albums, but I think that Pinkerton is a major step down from The Blue Album.
Death Magnetic is underrated by many Metallica fans.
I don't like Kendrick Lamaar...at all.
Most people who don't like pop music, or bands like Blink 182, A Day To Remember, New Found Glory, whatever, tend to be either insecure or just plain stuck-up about their music taste. I'm not saying it's the best music in the world, or that I even love those bands, but I don't know a single person who scoffs at those who do and aren't on a high horse.

 

Nickelback wasn't always a terrible band, their first 3 albums we pretty good.
Same for Creed.

 

Agree about Death Magnetic, All Nightmare Long should always be their opener live.

 

i totally get what you mean about kendrick. i like what he does but his music is not fun.

I wish rock/indie was less pretentious, so that "radio-friendly" and "bad" weren't mostly synonymous.

 

I don't necessarily think it's overrated but I don't have many feelings towards it. Chase this light is my fave. If I put on a JEW record it's usually something from Bleed American onward

 

I feel you on all this. I prefer all their albums after Clarity honestly....minus Invented. Really don't care for that one
