FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

I think the main problem is they added the trash people (not in the comic book from what I understand) so now there's that group that talks like morons too lol

The "he lay with me after" was the biggest genuine laugh I had all season admittedly though

On talking dead gimple said there's a story about why the trash people talk like they do. I guess we wait and see.

I really hope their involvement isn't major next season.

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

Maybe that's what her deal with Neegan hinged on...he refused so things went down the way they did. Had he accepted her offer, maybe things would have turned out different haha.

My guess is they'll have or will have a few trashie prisoners, and that's how their backstory gets revealed.

Oh no, I'm always waving the flag here about how I like them fleshing everything out more and how I don't consider the dragging out stories filler........but I will draw the line at Trash People back stories.

I want a Negan "coming of age" episode. Not like what they did with The Governor, but just something showing how the saviors came to be, and maybe Negan as a "human."

The short scene with Sasha before she entered the coffin was probably the realest we've seen Negan. He didn't have the cadence in his speech and he wasn't acting like a character.

I don't really. I'm reading the Negan origins comic and I kinda liked not knowing. I don't think everything needs to be explained. The Governor fleshing out was good, I really don't think it needs to be repeated with another villain.

This show is known for it's repetitiveness so I'm pretty sure they'll do something like this for Negan. I can see it now when he's in the jail cell in Alexandria, he will bring up old memories and we'll travel back in time, maybe showing us that he wasn't always bad.
It's kind of hilarious how similar the Governor and Negan really are, the only difference is how they run their communities. They both have soldiers but they also provide for the women/kids who aren't there to fight.

Haha not to just keep disagreeing but that was a scene I hated. He should have forced her into the coffin instead of letting her decide. It came off to me as him being a softy, like why is he letting someone who came in from Rick's team and kill a bunch of his men decide anything? It just seemed off and unnecessary. Would have rather them use that screen time for something else, like maybe having a reaction to everyone seeing Carol back?

Yea that scene wasn't anything special, but it was the first time Negan wasn't acting like "Negan," if that makes any sense. He was just a dude but only for a moment. Those little moments are important to show that the character isn't exactly one note.

The Governor was such a better villain. He started off mysterious but then a little bit of his bad side came out, then we saw the aquarium and his zombie daughter chained up. It's not really impressive to just see this bad guy (Negan) and never see another side of him. As of now, he's a guy with a bunch of empty threats but has a funny personality.

I would be absolutely beyond stunned if this show didn't dedicate an entire episode to Negan's backstory. Of course they'll do that...eventually.

I for one, would actually be into that.

  19. As dumb as this show can be, it can also be pretty smart in some ways. The more I think about the leaders of the six communities in play right now, the more I see connections between them. The way I see it, there are three pairs of foils.

Negan and Ezekiel both put on acts. In the same way that Ezekiel revealed his true self to Carol, so too did Negan to Carl and Sasha. Negan governs through inspiring fear: fall in line or you (or someone you care about) will be punished. Ezekiel does so through courage: fall in line for the benefit of the Kingdom.

Rick is all about action, does what he has to do to get shit done. Yes, he wants to protect his own people, but he can also see the bigger picture, that other communities would also benefit from Negan being out of the picture. Gregory is a coward, puts his own self-preservation first, lets other people get their hands dirty.

(Natania is similar to Gregory in that she's afraid of getting involved, but the major difference is that her community had already tried rebelling, and was punished as a result, whereas Gregory is too afraid to even consider it. Both, however, seem to be out of touch with their own communities, who do want to fight.)

Natania's foil is Jadis. While Natania refuses to get involved, Jadis is an opportunist. "We only take, no bother" is a load of bullshit because she actually looks for the best deal, the most she can get out of any given situation. She's a bit more like Negan than everyone else in that what drives her isn't self-preservation, but greed.

Even though he's dead, you have to throw in The Governor. He was by far the best leader in that he had his militia and his demons, but he hid them from the community he ran. He showed compassion and care toward the residents of Woodbury but would take part in some pretty nefarious things outside of the town's borders.

What's funny is that Rick and his band of merry assholes cause all of the shit that has happened. Each of these communities (with the exception of the Saviors) have just been minding their own business. Then here comes limp-wristed Rick with his revolver causing a shit-storm, questioning why people are running things they way they are and since they aren't to his standards, fights break out and people die.

In other words, Rick is the worst villain that the show has.

I completely disagree with what you said about Rick.

Conflict with the Governor: Started because Merle kidnapped Glenn/Maggie and the governor was even going to kill them until Rick rescued them and the conflict began. That was all Governor and Merle.

Conflict with Gareth: Started because the people of Terminus loaded Rick and Co. into train carts so they could eat them. 100% Terminus citizens fault.

Conflict with Negan: Negan had been threatening and killing members of the Hilltop so Rick agreed to help the Hilltop if they gave them supplies. Negan was the one threatening other communities. Rick and Co. wouldn't have anyone to protect Hilltop from if Negan wasn't a giant dick.

As for Rick causing trouble in Alexandria. He did start trouble with Pete, but Pete was beating his wife. Rick also needed the snow flakes in Alexandria to realize it's not happy bunny land and they need to be prepared and aware of what is outside of the gates.

Rick is a good leader and if it weren't for him the group wouldn't be together.

You could argue that Rick is good or bad all day long. At the end of the day, he's personally killed more people than probably any other character in the show, at least that we know of. He's constantly leading his group into situations that aren't ideal, and getting people killed in the process. I'm honestly surprised that some sort of mutiny hasn't happened already. He's essentially a "couch surfer" where he sets up shop at various locations, taking over power from the original founder/leader until shit really hits the fan and everyone is forced go move out.

I know that Rick and his group are considered the good guys of the series, but that's really all just based on perspective since all of these groups are doing the same thing, the only difference is in degree.

I'm finding it really hard to brush off how lazily choreographed that battle scene was.

The second Carl fired that shot like 80% of them should have been dead.

Of course Rick has killed more people. Shepard has to protect his sheep. The reason a mutiny hasn't happened if because everyone in his group knows he is a good leader and is the reason they are alive. At the end of Season 2 carol brings up how she believes Rick is a burden and not a good leader and Daryl corrected her by standing with Rick. Same goes for Season 5. At the end when Deanna wanted to kick Rick out, everyone in his group had his back and admitted he is the leader they need.

It seems more like you just have a vendetta against Rick.

I'm tired of the bad decision making by every damn character in this show. I'm done with it unless season 8 proves to be something special, but we haven't had special since seasons 1 and 2. Zombies aren't even a fucking threat anymore! I mean seriously.

This whole discussion of morality and what it is to be human in a world like this is getting so goddamn tired. Maybe in their universe it's only been a couple of years or so, but for us it's been 7.

It's the same cycle - some new found peace and comfort all of a sudden upturned by a bad guy or bad group. Morality questions fly around, bad decisions are made, people die, rinse and repeat.

Rick is at the head of everything, making the bad decisions over and over. At this point, I really wouldn't mind if he was killed. It would almost make sense at this point, since everyone is so devoted to him, let him by their martyr.
