Half of the time I find out about new albums being released because somebody started an album thread though

 

This too is a good point, there have been many times where an artist that I either don't like, or don't know, announces a new album and I at least want to give the first single a shot. If it was just posted in the artist thread, I'd probably never even know there was anything new

 

Maybe it's because I avoided music forum like the plague but I always preferred album threads to artist threads

Also alt+S doesn't work anymore

 

Yeah at times I just flick through ap looking at album threads and trying then out.

 

i'm so on board for standardized album threads

 

None of this matters. These are the most inconsequential things. Standardized OPs, artist vs album threads. Who cares? Go talk music.

 

I want to that's why standards are good! To find the right threads to talk about music in.

It works on my home computer, but not my work computer, I don't know why....

 

I don't care about strict standards but it'd be nice if album and artist threads could have SOME info about the topic in the OP

 

I also really like album threads for discovery purposes - lots of times I'll pop in the forum just to see which albums are being talked about currently. I like that they're in the music forum now too, never made sense in the general forum on AP.

Yes, this is true.

 

I like the idea of standardizing these things just because if I'm going to be spending a lot of time on a site, I want it to be organized optimally.
