He's been employed under the same company since the late 80s, but his division has gone from ADT to Tyco Fire & Security to Tyco Integrated Systems to Johnson Controls.

My dad is a VP and he's doing pretty well

I don't get anything on hand from my family's success but I am part of a FLP so I'm pretty set

 

This is all very intriguing.

 

My parents are pretty well off. My stepdad is the head of the transportation department for a company in MI, and my mom is a treasurer so they're doing well

 

I do think though that at the end of it all I will be the one in my (immediate-ish) family who ends up the most well off based on the trajectory I chose

All my family chose very specific routes that don't have very high ceilings so they're pretty much at it, while mine is ridiculously high

My chosen career path doesn't really have money. Unless you're in a microscopic percentage.

 

I'm kind of just winging it right now. I'm a little out of my element with the position I'm in, I'm a technician at an air bag company, but I'm making the best of it and have been promoted a few times over the three years I've been here. I enjoy doing it, but job security makes me nervous now with the issues going on.

 

My dad worked for TI for 25+ years and now works for graphite company.

 

I feel like our entire generation is winging it. Hahah.
