Yeah I was doing some Heroics and then reg Crisis playlist just to chill after work and made it from 367 to 377 in no time. Blues were boosting me like crazy. Then I realized vendor gear was 380, so even sweeter. I think I will hit up the Forge today since you mentioned it.

Also love seeing all those drops. It looks like its going to be very fulfilling doing this stuff again.

I also need to spend some time deleting stuff from my fault to make room for some of this new stuff. I have a hard time deleting stuff you can't get anymore for the reason of "oh yeah, I'll run through crucible one day with this cool Y1 blue hand canon just to make people wonder what killed them". But of course I never do.....

 

Yeah the game has literally never been more rewarding than it is now. Especially with Age of Triumph, I suppose they figured that since the game is about to be obsolete less than 6 months, might as well through everything at us (except Pocket Infinity and Blackhammer, natch) and say "Go to town." One thing to keep in mind about the Forge is that it's really grind-y. The drop rates aren't terrible, but they aren't amazing either. Honestly you might be better off running the strikes because those are guaranteed drops. It's just that the gear you can get from the Forge is tight, especially the sniper (But Not Forgotten) and the fusion rifle (Saladin's Vigil). Prior to the special ammo changes, Saladin's Vigil was the secret terror of the Crucible. I have a what is essentially a god roll on mine (Perfect Balance, Accelerated Coils, Rangefinder) and would just totally melt people with it. Still fun to use in strikes with specialist or whatever burn you get on it (mine is void). And But Not Forgotten is a solid PVE sniper, plus it's the highest-impact archetype so it's also good for PVP.

As for vault space...yeah it's a problem. At least you can delete all the Y1 versions of the VoG and Crota stuff, if you still have it. That's all re-earnable (again, except Blackhammer).

 

Makes total sense. I have Saladin's Vigil actually but don't remember the roll. I finally got a Grasp of Malok 2 nights ago as well finally haha. Not god roll but a good one.

 

I have a Counterbalance/Feeding Frenzy roll but in the middle it only has Smallbore. It's still very good, but not perfect, obviously. I don't even really use it anymore, though. Since the last meta shift I've mostly been back using my old ridiculously well-rolled Hawksaw in PVP (Oiled Frame, Counterbalance, Hand-Laid Stock - it has max stability and reload, pure insanity). I also use my Lingering Song I got in the last Iron Banner (Hammer Forged, Explosive Rounds, Luck in the Chamber - excellent roll), my Haakon's Hatchet (Rangefinder, Perfect Balance, Counterbalance), and MIDA because it's still good and will always be good.

 

Finished the raid on my Warlock last night and then ran it on my Hunter as well. Got:

Fang of Ir-Yut (Adept)
Fang of Ir-Yut
Hunter gloves
Hunter hood
Bunch of duplicates of stuff I already had.

Looks like the armor drops are way, way stingier than the weapon drops. Going to be tough to assemble all of those armor sets for the fully ornamented effect. Give us a reason to grind, at least.

Preorder at Destiny the Game | Where To Buy

 

just did my preorder and got my Cayde-6 statue and my beta access code.

 

There is so much hype going on right now. Honestly that trailer was awesome, had a great tone, and featured the best character in the game in a sufficiently prominent role. Stoked to have a firm date for the gameplay reveal. Can't wait to see how they evolve what is, in my opinion, the most fluid and fun-to-play FPS on the market in terms of mechanics.

 

I want that Cayde-6 figure but I also want to get the digital deluxe edition rather than the physical. Ugh.

 

I don't want to preorder at Gamestop, but I want that figure and all the physical bonuses. BUT...... I think I want this to be a digital download for once for me since I know how much I'll play it.

 

I'm in the exact same boat. So frustrating.

 

I didn't know you could get the Cayde-6 figure when you actually went in to place the pre-order, so I went to my GameStop and preordered the $99 physical edition. I have the same style box for original and Taken King so might as well keep it going.

 

I preordered it digitally and got the dynamic PS4 theme. Pretty cool, and the music is really good.

 

So now that we know for sure it's the Cabal attacking Earth, what does everyone think the raid is going to be like? Personally, I don't buy the theory that the raid is going to take place in the city, honestly. I think retaking the city is going to be the final story mission and the raid is going to take place after that. I think the raid is either going to be on Mars, Ghaul's ship, or on an entirely new planet, as we chase down the Cabal at their base of operations. That's assuming that Bungie decides to follow the same overall game structure as in the first one (finish the story, which leads into the raid), of course. Interested to hear what everyone else thinks.

 

Im looking forward to all the new planets and stuff. The recent grimoire additions with AoT had one about Eris. She left the tower and referred to all of it as a "lie", it'll be interesting to see what happens to her in D2..

 

Byf posted a video a little while ago today talking about all the potential heroes we're going to have to travel around the system and find, and Eris was one of the ones he listed. And I'm still not convinced Lysander and the Concordat have nothing to do with this.

 

I'm sticking to ol' faithful XB1 with D2 again. It's ridiculous about the exclusive PS4 content and that whole deal, but i'll live as I have without Zen Meteor for close to 2 years. (Getting a PS4 pro this year, but I doubt I'll get D2 for it also. A dynamic theme sounds dope).

I wish I read deeper into the grimorie to be able to speak to it like that, but alas I do not. I always forget about it actually. Maybe that's a problem with it being separate? It has its pros and cons.

As far as raid speculation goes: heading out to fight "Gary" head on at Cabal home base or somewhere else makes sense. I'm find with whatever. Another earth raid? Sure. Just make it in a crazy location. Something weird like London or Egypt.

 

Byf actually has a lot of good lore videos, it's where I learned about most of the Destiny lore, honestly. I always mean to read more of the Grimoire and never do. I posted the Lysander/Concordat video on the previous page, if you want to check it out.

But in D2 the lore had better be in-game. If Metroid Prime could have its entire database in-game on the Gamecube, there's no reason why Destiny shouldn't have also had it in the game.

Same. I used to raid on all 3 characters every week through the taken king era and then my team fell apart. Trying so hard to get everyone back together for these last few months to raid leading up to D2

 

Putting some money down on the limited editon tomorrow

 

Did CE tonight with a new crew. (I mean, over never really had "a crew", just friends who had crews which happened to need one more guy because one of their normals was busy). My first time doing it in a long time. I got:

Word of Crota (Adept) [used Knukles of Eao)
Song of Ir Yut
Helmet
Arms
Hunter "Flies" cloak
And a couple of other things I think.

I used ornimants and my helmet and arms and I now look pretty bad ass.
