We don't even have a confirmed release date, yet, or a single. I wouldn't say it's a lack of marketing, yet. They've posted photos/short videos on social media throughout most of the recording process. I'm sure once there's a single and release date, there will be more of a marketing push.

 

I have a friend/contact who's been in the business for a long time that I met while writing for AP, used to do A&R for a big label around the peak of Blink's popularity. He told me somewhat recently he got to hear a few songs, and he told me those dates last night. Where he heard them, I don't know, but presumably from someone in the Blink camp.

 

That's pretty cool man, what did he think of the songs he heard? Or did he not say.

 

Have that guy said something about the tour announcement?

 

He enjoyed what he heard and said they felt like a mix of a TOYPAJ/Untitled. Forget exactly what words he used, but he said something along the lines of them feeling reminiscent of classic Blink but also like something entirely new.

He didn't, sorry.

 

I have a friend who works for Warner and told me off the record that blink's new record is going to be distributed by them here in Brazil.

 

I find it weird that with everything we know so far, people are annoyed that no announcement has been made yet. Radio date originally said April 26th, Mark said new music in April, I wouldn't expect anything until the last week of April where they will probably drop a single, announce the album and a tour for July. I get that people are just desperate for news, but you're probably torturing yourself holding out on something this week (or next). I'd be happy to be wrong, however. Just my two cents.

On one hand, all of this speculation and "he said she said" info on the album is really awesome. It's rare anymore to get hyped to that degree for an upcoming album, so much so that it's starting to form its own sort of treasure hunt for knowledge.

On the other hand, fuck all of this, I can't handle the wait.

 

We're definitely behaving as detectives after any sort of information about these songs. Sometimes I wish someone like that kid who broke into Tom's email account and leaked the songs from WDNTW would do something similar for us. I know it's wrong, but I'm desperate for any kind of material to hold on to.

 

I don't want a leak. Then i'd feel guilty. I'd love it if Mark actually hid the song somewhere and we had to find it.

 

I would totally listen to a leak. I wouldn't share it, just comment about it here. I'm definitely purchasing everything they release when the time comes.

 

I'm stoked we're gonna get like fifteen more Odi Acoustic covers over the next year or so

 

HAHAHA it's true, he and all those drummers on youtube cover channels are gonna have a hell of a lot of work.
