Sad stuff. Will definitely miss this band, but will always listen to their discography.

I've become indifferent to Yellowcard over the past 10 years or so but they were a large influence on me and my musical taste back in high school. I remember in high school buying One for the Kids and The Underdog EP and thought this band was going to blow up. Then Oceans Avenue was released right after I graduated from HS and they obviously did blow up. I was really happy for their success.

I personally enjoy Lights and Sounds the most (and I know I'm in the minority on this site saying that). I never really fell in love with anything they did after that. Paper Walls has some great tracks as well but I rarely listened to anything after their hiatus (although I did purchase WYTTSY) and saw them live twice after their hiatus.

Had this final tour come to Cleveland, I probably would have checked it out. Looked like a great setlist.

I am. They have such a great back catalogue that I'll be fine for years to come. I haven't liked much after Paper Walls so there's that too. Cut Me Mick, and The Takedown were JAMS!

Was never a HUGE fan but of course I had Ocean Avenue back in the day and was able to catch them on Warped last summer.

That said, I wish I had made it town to this Anaheim show as it's an hour from me, as that would have been special. And, though I've seen a couple bands do the 'farewell show/tour' thing (Rx Bandits and the Matches), only to come back later anyway, there does seem to definitely be a sense of finality with Ryan's speech and all that, so this does really seem like "the end."...

    happy trails, YC.

  7. man, that last bridge of "Ocean Avenue" really had a whole new meaning watching that video and knowing the circumstances of it being their final show. pretty emotional.

John // OC now, OH forever.

So yeah, I've told this story a bunch of times but it bears repeating and I'll give the condensed version here.

In 2003, I joined their message board because I'd bought tickets to a show and wanted to find out more about the band.
In 2004, I flew to Las Vegas to hang out with some kids off of that board in my first "strangers on the web" encounter.
In 2005, I moved to California after using up all of my PTO flying back and forth to see a girl I'd met off of that board.
In 2011, I asked her to marry me. She said yes.
In 2012, she became my wife.
In 2017, we missed their last show because the next morning was our baby shower.

    Thank you, YC.
