well you're not really explaining why so it's not easy to be convinced that way i guess :/

  5. There have not been any breaches in any of Appleā€™s systems including iCloud and Apple ID. The alleged list of email addresses and passwords appears to have been obtained from previously compromised third-party services.
It has nothing to do with Apple. It's a bunch of old passwords from other services, and if people use the same password with iCloud as their hacked Yahoo account, that's not on Apple to force a reset of everyone's password because of it.

    It's a bad article.

I think I posted in here a while ago that I was going to/did buy an old quad core mac mini so I figured I'd give an update on how that worked out, and the long and short of it is that it didn't but for reasons that I can't really blame on the machine itself. Basically my setup at home is that I have a gaming PC and my work from home setup on a single desk with one monitor/keyboard/mouse and a KVM. I'm pretty in to PC gaming so I have a really high end monitor that runs at a really high refresh rate. The Mac mini could not, no matter what I did, recognize the monitor's real resolution. No matter how many times i reset the SMC/PRAM it always detected it as a 1080p 31.5 inch monitor with a super hideous color profile. I even tried to many create an EDID override with the correct values but to no available. In a single monitor setup like the one I have at home 1080p just wasn't enough screen real estate so I'm selling the mac mini.

I am also giving the 2016 macbook pro another shot, this time with the touchbar model with a maxed out CPU and 16GB of ram. The CPU is 65% faster than the one in the non-touchbar model that I already tried and that failed to perform well enough for me so I am hoping that the extra speed is enough, cause I really don't want to have to shell out the cash for the 15 inch at it's new higher price, and I really have grow to like the size of the 13 inch models now. The battery life is still not what I hoped for but since I don't take classes anymore I'm not caught away from a charger as often, especially since the laptop isn't my primary work machine anymore with the iMac work provides.

I still wish there was a new Mac Pro/Quad core mac mini though

Agreed. The newer Mac Mini lineup is a pretty big letdown, not only in terms of OEM specs but also because you can't upgrade anything yourself.

Be sure to share your thoughts on the touchbar model. I haven't seen a demo or review yet that has sold me on it, but I do quite a bit of video editing for work and use garageband at home. I'd be willing to upgrade if there were some significant workflow perks.

Ordered an Apple Watch Series 2 last night. I'm pretty pumped about the GPS and Waterproof capabilities. I'm going to use the shit out it.

Grain of salt because, as a developer, there aren't really very many integrations for the tools i use but to me it seems like the touchbar is more useful for newer users who don't know all the keyboard shortcuts yet. The only task I've found easier on the touchbar then on a normal keyboard is typing emoji. And even that only because I rebound the key combo for the emoji picker. I don't dislike it per say, it ads a couple taps to adjusting volume screen and keyboard brightness, but other than that it hasn't really changed the way I use my laptop. It's not a negative it's just...not really a positive? Idk. I'm apathetic.

Even the inclusion of touch ID means less to me since I use chrome (no apple pay) and have an Apple watch (so unlocking the computer with touch ID doesn't help me). If I could use touch ID to authenticate sudo in terminal then we might actually be talking, I have to keep my password for the macbook user account fairly simple because of how often I have to type it in, and that makes it my least secure password right now. If I could use touchID instead of typing that password every time I could make it harder to get in to my computer. But as it stands you can't do that without third party scripts that I don't 100% trust right now.

Got the SE 128GB. It's fantastic. Turned my old 6 into a permanent iPod I'm leaving in my car. Works great.

Apple Music on iTunes has recently made progress for me in fixing some of the things that bothered me compared to the iOS app, which has been near-flawless imo for quite a while. It's nearly on par now I think.

Maybe I'm just imagining things, but I really do think I notice a general performance increase on iOS 10.3 with the new file system. It also freed up a couple GBs of space which is always nice!

Fingers crossed my bluetooth issue was finally fixed? No disconnects yet.

  21. Updating to 10.3 freed up over 2 GB on my 128GB 7. Woo!

You having issues with iphone or Mac? Bluetooth on my imac at work has been crap for me lately, so much so that I switched to a logitech mouse with one of those USB wireless dongles. It's so much more consistent.

Bluetooth on my MacBook Pro has been shit literally since I got it YEARS ago... I literally can't use Bluetooth audio, I have to plug in my speakers with AUX.

My MacBook Pro does that too and Bluetooth audio skips constantly to the point that it's unusable... I've never been able to use Bluetooth devices since I bought it.
