I'm seeing it AGAIN next week with my sister

 

I'm going on Tuesday with some coworker's since we were all huge fans of the OG show.

 

To Tom's credit, he may or may not have listened to the mixes of Neighborhoods (really though, not sure if there's any concrete proof he didn't besides Travis' words) but it sure sounds like he wrote 70% of that record. As far as the way it turned out sounding, that fault is on all three of them. Mark and Chris Holmes made some really great sounding records (Commit This To memory, My dinosaur life, Not Without a fight) to have let this be released with that production quality

 

Neighborhoods honestly could have been a top tier blink album if they recorded it in the same room with a legit producer and either cut or improved the weaker songs

 

Or Jerry Finn

 

I listened to Neighborhoods with the commentary on Spotify last night and it kind of reignited my appreciation of that album. It's flawed for sure, but I still enjoy a great deal of it.

 

I wish that was available off of Spotify

 

Are those comments somehow different from the ones that are on youtube?

 

Random thought; I had a dream last night that Skiba got mad that Blink was taking all his time away from Alkaline so he quit. Tom rejoined but didn't show up to the very first rehearsal no call no show, so mark said fuck it and ended Blink and became a country singer....

Does this qualify as a nightmare?

I'm pretty sure they're the same. Looks like they're all around 30-ish seconds.

 

Man, I really dig the guitar on Cynical all through

 

I dig the guitar on 'Parking Lot' a lot. It's fast, loud, and has urgency.

It's funny. I feel like the song didn't get much praise from fans, but my friends who are casual Blink fans/Blink fans who stopped following them, loved 'Parking Lot' over every thing on California. Mainly bc its "Angsty" and "Old Blink" and "The best Skiba has sounded since joining Blink".

 

I actually think i like Parking Lot more than Cynical

 

Don't get me wrong I love parking lot. But Cynical is my favorite song from this era thus far. I can put it on repeat and never get tired of it.

 

He still plays the beginning differently (but not bad imo) but when the riff first comes in through the end of the song this sounds pretty damn good to my non-expert ears. He got so much better with this

 

So, since you guys are some of my favs on this site, besides pop punk, what other stuff do you guys listen to ? I'm a pretty big metal guy as well.

 

I listen to mostly P.O.S. and Senses Fail (mostly the last two albums though I did get out Let It Enfold You the other day)
