Ugh I am so excited to see them again in May.

  2. i can't think of many musicians who care as much about the aesthetic of their live shows. hearing that designer talk about instagram's influence on how everything looks blew my dick off. like, that's such a cool way to think about it.

Absolutely love that video on their production design. The effects are breathtaking. Anyone have the vinyl release of I Like It When You Sleep? How is the mix?

  4. I have it but had trouble playing it at 33 1/2 rpms... anyone else have this issue? does it need to be at a different speed?

I'm listening to this while being stoned. I thought it was incredible all ready - but fuck.

    Hi guys,

I've been a big lurker on here for a few months (this thread especially) and love the community and the new site. I already posted this in the self-promotion thread, but I hope it's not too much trouble putting it here. Robbers is one of my favorite tracks of all time and means so much to me so I did a full cover of it about a year ago. Let me know what you think!

P.S.: I am conflicted on the new record, but there are some gems. Nothing hits home quite like A Change of Heart though.

I usually get stoned before I listen to a record the first time. This ones particularly awesome though because of the layering

Has anything off this been serviced to radio recently/how have the singles been doing? Anyone know? Maybe @Jason Tate?

So of the five singles from this album are Love Me and The Sound the only ones that have been pushed to radio? And would that make the others (UGH!, Somebody Else, and A Change Of Heart) promotional singles then?

Also related, the band has been working on a music video for A Change Of Heart. Could that be the next single they choose to try making a push for radio airplay?

Change of Heart is the next UK single

  14. I feel like She's American might've been a better choice but what do I know

    and a little jingle...

Went back and listened to their debut after listening to this solely for the past month. Wowie. Doesnt even compare. Jebus. The sound is SOOO much more lush on their 2nd album. The songs, everything. There are some gems on the debut...but damn.....it really struck me going back and listening to it now. The progression.

I still listen to this 3-4 times each week. Somebody Else will no doubt make my top 10 songs of the year, doesn't get old for me. The lyrics kill me and musically it's also one of my favorites on the album.

    i said dont @ me

still my album of the year, i just grow to love this more and more over time which is insane considering how hard it hit me from the go. but certain things are still revealing themselves that i might not have picked up on before, little intricacies that run throughout the album to make it more cohesive, things that link songs together in unique ways, maybe a repeated synth sound or a lyric reference. it's just a very tightly woven album with so much care put into every last inch of it that it's a miracle it flows so...naturally. youd think itd feel almost TOO worked over. id never call this over produced, because aside from that being a bad descriptor anyway, it has just the amount of pop sheen these songs call for, which is a lot, but they bask in it and nothing gets lost in the bombastic, overblown production techniques. instead, the bright colors illuminate the songs and highlight just what makes this band so damn special. they are masters of aesthetic, and that's something i appreciate a hell of a lot when it elicits an emotional reaction. which, obviously, it does.

Possibly. Currently don't have a job and I just saw them in December but it seems like it'll be an awesome show.

Saw them live almost a week ago and everything was on point. The new songs sound really good live! They played Me, fallingforyou and Somebody Else one after another and I don't know how I managed to survive.
